re: What's AF doing with their A380s?

Moved from another thread:
My understanding is that as the fuel tanks were ready on schedule they were sat on the ground at Toulouse for 2 years waiting for the rest of teh aircraft to be ready and he tanks degraded.

The words "on schedule" don't seem to get used anywhere near oftan enough these days when talking about building new planes...

Edit: I just noticed my very appropriate post count for this comment... :)

Or rather post #6 in this thread, with post count 789.

Kids joke: "Why did 6 cry? Because 789"

OK...moving along....

I'm guessing these are A380 problems that are cropping up rather than AF problems (or AF A380 specific problems).

In any case, what are AF doing with their A380s? From the first pictures, they don't look all that exciting. I think where QF put a small lounge area, AF put some sort of gallery area.

Re: What's AF doing with their A380s?

It was 787 at the time the post was made.
Yes i did get that, just a shame that the post referred to a moving target. What happens in 6 months if someone reads it and wonder why 1376 is relevant to delayed aircraft.

Anyway, I'm over it and in some ways I'd have preferred my flippant remark to have been treated with the respect it deserved and been deleted.

Cest la vie

La vie

No worries about the 'flippant remark' nor 'moving target''s.

If nothing else where go a reprise of an old joke from anat0l :p

Who the hell is going to read all 6709 posts in the off topic thread now let alone in 6 months time.:shock:

Look on the bright side.

This is both better than FT OMNI and it counts towards your post count!
I have hardly had a look at FT OMNI, and no real interest to start now, but yes this is one of the nice advantages of the off-topic threads on AFF.

Interesting thought. Would people on AFF continue to post to off-topic threads if the post did not count towards post count? What incentive could you possibly have to take the time to post to a thread that will likely be forgotten or the post lost in the bowels of the thread by the time you posted anyway? Just like this post although my post count has incremented by 1. ;)

The post count is incidental - this thread is a nice diversion.

(IMHO Omni is just full of rubbish)

Depends.

Stuff like "Count to 100,000" and "The r:rolleyes:lleyes thread" are wastes of time and posts (yet they are oddly "popular").

There is other stuff which is either your everyday trash (given a wide audience, not surprised to find) or is sometimes in "goldmine" territory (rare, I know....)
