Are you sure it's just not that the ninjas haven't got their sticky fingers to them before you?
Speaking from experience, the hot food at the ADL QP can disappear from stocked to nothing within 20 seconds.
The only way you can get hot food from the ADL QP at times is to be a line sniper.
Another point may be that it's not quite the time to put out the hot food yet; perhaps that is 1730h or 1800h. Rather late, yes...... but can't blame the QP staff for being scared of feeding time at the zoo...... :-| :shock:
