Thanks but unfortunately I have tried and no luck.

Ok, sent you a tip. Let me know how it goes.

Quite a few years ago I was thinking about getting a Private Investigator's license, but decided it probably wasn't the best use of money and my time. Still, the training course would have been fun - was a week and involved various 'assignments' tracking people etc.

I will keep trying google and the occasional facebook search (relax using someone else's iPhone and Facebook account) but I am not holding my breath....
JohnK,

There is a web site called schoolfriends.com (or something similar), maybe you could look there.

It does cover other groups than school mates.

Currently in Seattle, bought some Sorel Caribou boots for $110 USD (was going for $299 AUD in Melbourne!), would be well prepared for snow next time in the US

Yes thanks will look into that one.

I don't know whether I would want to track anyone. Knowing my luck I may get sent to track the wrong type of person and before you know it I am the one being tracked.

I am registered on Friends Reunited and have not been able to find her on that site. By the way she was not a school friend.

I was more interested in it as a professional field. Knew some people who had the license and used it in their job (rather than the standard 'crusty' gun-for-hire type PI depicted in movies etc looking for the cheating spouse).

But decided it wasn't the path I should be following.

Going back a very long way in this thread ... There should be a photo or two of me in my coat on the net after I attended the FT Olympic walk. (Part of the President's Weekend London Do). I should be easy to spot, but please don't repost the links here.

Mental note: Don't try to type while on a train that is running express. You end up posting nonsense and later having to correct yourself multiple times (actually, is that much different from my normal posting??? ;) )

Last year I was running on the wrong side of a barbed wire fence hoping a crocodile didn't eat me. Then I realised I didn't need to be the fastest, just had to be faster than someone!

Crocodiles in Burrill Lake? Barbed Wire fence? And you've claimed that Burrill Lake is a pretty quiet place previously.

No one is here. Everyone is at the Mill! :D

I am here. But it is pretty quiet. Suppose Saturday night (Australian local time), and the FT BNE catch-up has taken it's toll on some of the regulars.

Hic!

I don't know about you but 10 beers and 3 glasses of red takes it toll on me. Completely wasted. Even bluffed my way into the J lounge. Was good.

Well some of us have been working hard today in other parts of the world. Wish there was a chance for a "hic" or two. Now finished today's tasks and preparing for tomorrow's effort. Then have to start at 4am Monday. My next "break" will be flying HKG-MEL later in the week, spending the 9 hour flight planning next weekend's change tasks.

Hope you all enjoyed the BNE meeting. Sounds like much "fun" was had by all.

As og wrote on FT - Don't forget the g*** wranglers and v********** (hopefully I have the correct number of * )

Did the QP have scales to weigh the g***s and their luggage? And are g***s carry-on or checked baggage?

I'm sure serfty, JohnK and others all had fun too. Was there a tally taken of the combined drinkage?

... and when I woke up this morning it was 31 degrees lower in temperature than Brisbane. how I miss the simple things in life like great steak, a warm February and an afternoon catching up with FT'ers while inbibing the good stuff.

that is a challenge I would have preferred to the one with which I was tasked today. I would have really appreciated catching up with many of the people attending today.

At least the NM b*s bears the same badge as your limo ;). It would have been a pleasure to be able to help transport people today rather than being condemned to my hotel room all day, trying to work out ways to participate in two conference calls at the same time without inuring outrageous phone bills.

Hmmm.... Some of us continue to post nonsense without outside influence.

At least no one was barred or kicked out today although samh004 came close a few times. ;)

Huh! At which point did you lose count? ;)

It was a great day and I lost count of how much I had to drink. Not because I had too much to drink but I kept getting confused and lost count. I am still alive and going to sleep soon so think all is good....

I was just kidding. ;)

Looks like no guiness on tap at the Mill for St Patricks Day although there will be green beer. Up to you but if you want some Guiness on tap then best get to one of the city pubs a little earlier....
