Went to get lunch today. 30 minute queuing at the fish shop for a grilled barra + salad + chips + diet coke $10. Gave up before I could get to counter.
[/rant]

Ordered two pizzas at Domino's on Friday night, get there, they stuffed up the order for one. Wanted me to hang around for 10 minutes to get the right pizza plus a comp pizza. Just left and told them to refund the one pizza they stuffed up as I had to visit someone in hospital before visiting hours finished.

Waiting for a reversal on my AMEX which hasn't come, so complained via feedback and directly.

They rang and tried make me accept a comp pizza. I said no, I want a refund like the person on Friday night said he would do. Threatened a CC charge back. Hanged up, as I was visiting another person in hospital.

So much for Domino's 100% satisfaction guarantee.

That's kind of a predictable outcome isn't it? Stuff happens. Mistakes get made. I'd just have waited.

Though I think WMW said they had to get to the hospital before visiting hours ended so couldn't really wait (though 10mins must have meant they were cutting the time fine). Personally if they didn't refund, I would just accept the correct pizza and a comp one for next time. Maybe ask for a voucher to ensure it's honoured.
No probably I would have accepted the incorrect pizza at the time as I don't usually mind what's on them and sometimes things go wrong. :). For the sake of one pizza I don't think I would be making a big deal but YMMV.

And some more happy dancing, my upgrade to J has come through for Thursday night (HKG-BNE). Time to select a seat I like (with console in middle so I have direct access to the aisle).

Only two seats in J not allocated.

Am keeping a close eye on my SCs to see what membership year to allocate my loyalty SCs. Looks like they can wait until December.

Hobart Krispy Kreme news.

Hobart Virtual Pop-Up
PLACING AN ORDER FOR HOBART
Our goal is to always deliver the highest quality and freshest doughnuts. For your convenience, Krispy Kreme Australia will set up a Pop-Up collection point at Northgate Shopping Centre, 387-393 Main Road, Glenorchy TAS 7010 on the 5th and 6th of October.

Please note there will be no doughnuts available for purchase on the day. All orders must be pre-placed via the Hobart Virtual Pop-Up page online on or before 3pm on the 03/10/2017. The cost of freight has been worked into the product price in the online store.

I still miss Randys Donuts near LAX.

Honeymoon over for SA Health Department and the new hospital. Currently experiencing an inundation around the state and ambulances ramping for hours. They are transporting people from city hospitals to country ones to get attention. Govt blaming sticky beakers at the new RAH then in the next breath say it's across the state. But blind Freddy could have guessed that not addressing systemic problems will come back to bite. Lipstick on a pig, as they say. Perhaps one of the worst things they've done is start to close our Repat Hospital but stated categorically two elections ago that no Labor Government would close the Repat.

I'd be staying put if I was him. Much easier in there.
For you and the men, maybe.

Amazon delivery is going to shake up Australian merchants. Kindle ordered from US store on 6 September at $200 less than the authorised Aussie seller for this model. Postage paid was $10. All AUD. Arrived today having been couriered and traceable all the way from Kentucky with DHL. Impressive.

The interesting thing is that the wifi arrives already switched on and when no wifi it refers to 3G. So why is flight mode so important?

Why are you ordering from Dominos in the first place?
I've moved on to Crust.com.au
For some reason these guys can deliver direct to a hospital operating theatre complex which means walking past front reception, taking lifts, walking down corridor turn left another corridor then buzz the bell. And always within the delivery time posted after the online order.
Dominos can't/won't - always to emergency department where it risks being devoured or taste tested before it gets to us.

Some smart Alec Doctor decided he would bring morning tea in on Saturdays. Now all the Saturday nurses are asking me (who had no idea of the arrangement) where is morning tea. "Dr So and so always bring in morning tea". May lightning strike you down twice [/Rant]

Wow. We get regular reports of ramping at the Royal Hobart Hospital, which is not only a very old site, made up of a number of buildings of varying vintages (some very old!) but they recently demolished an entire tower in order to build a modern, larger one. So the hospital is crammed to the gills and not a great place to be.

But for a brand new hospital?

When Abbott was leading the Libs to the election that he eventually lost to Julia Gillard via Independents, he promised Hobart $1 bill to build a new hospital (which is what we need, but can't afford). Blatant pork-barrelling, sure, but we needed the pork! Andrew Wilkie, who won the Hobart seat as the independent, turned the offer down, (and supported Gillard) saying it wasn't fair to other cities in Australia. Who would have guessed that Wilkie previously ran as a Green?

The honeypot effect. Haha.
Must be great honey considering the price they paid for it. haha. Governments just want to build facades.

Better than hospital food.
The hospital does not have a staff cafeteria in hours or out of hours. When it was open, they used to serve up food brought in from a centralised kitchen. A fully paid kitchen hand would sit at the till at her appointed hour even though the food had not arrived. No menu was ever put up. So when asked when it was arriving or what it was this time the invariable answer was "Dunno" .The only food outlet is a volunteer run Kiosk. Nothing there of note. It's either BYO or delivery.
We do get frozen bread delivered weekly into the staff room fridge. Usually out of date stuff but frozen. Not even Caterers blend Coffee
