My visa doesn't allow EU work unfortunately - otherwise I'd be looking at Germany, Holland or a few other countries. If I was a French speaker I would be able to apply for a good role I saw this morning (probably a French bank in London), ditto if I spoke German or spoke Dutch.
Transferring to the continent you'd need to find a company willing to sponsor you for a visa. That's what he had to do, as well. A few dramas with that and also with the move to germany

Not that I'm saying you should follow his path just offering an outline of the experience and to mention that while it seems hard, you never know when or how it might work out for the long term. good luck with it.

I agree. Life takes you on interesting turns and trips, and tbh a job offer tomorrow could lead me to being in London forever (well at least many years)

It’s raining so loudly here at present that I can’t hear the TV ;)

They did say it was going to rain hard tonight… I wonder where the lake will be in the morning, and I wonder where the Ladies Masters will be played too :p

Soothing though, so bed for me :)

Yes quite soothing-slept like a log.the weather radar is interesting-just blue from rainbow beach to Evans Head and out to Milmerran.

Still super hot here............. been our hottest summer on record, and driest too.

They're predicting much of the same for Autumn.

Well, Cabbage Tree Creek at Beckett Road, McDowall will flood today if the rain keeps up. Went for a walk with one of my dogs this morning and the bushland that the creek flows through (McDowall Reserve) resembled a river. Water was over the bridge connecting the walkway through the Reserve, so I had to turn around. Walked my second dog to the culvert which passes under Beckett Road and it was about 1 metre under the road (so about 3 metres in depth) ad the water was moving.

Driving to work an hour later, I drove slowly over the culvert again and saw that it had less than 0.5 metres from the top.

Might make getting home interesting if traffic has to divert via Old Northern Road. Lucky I have an AWD.

:(

It's getting uncomfortable walking around UWA all day...Why did they build the new business school at the other end of the campus?! I don't mind the walk but in this heat..

What are you talking about, it’s already Autumn, as of yesterday ;)

The lakes on the golf course have risen significantly, so some holes will be under water by now. I’m thinking the Ladies Masters will be cancelled.

The start of Autumn can be uncharacteristically like Summer. For us in SE QLD, seems we're getting the wet part of Summer. Better than 32+ degC with 80%+ humidity, that's for sure.

Just wait until the sun finally reappears, that’s going to be an A/C day.

Ahh to cooler autumn weather. Which means it's time for winter fashion and I can finally look forward to wearing my new winter must-haves  Here's hoping we get a nice cold winter this time, the last few have been fairly disappointing.

I too have been looking forward to it since December ;) but I hope this rain goes away too (for those of us that have it) as it’s rather depressing, and I don’t have any fashionable raincoats :p

London has had good weather for the last couple of days ... looks like Spring has sprung!

It's great seeing sunshine and the sky being relatively free of clouds. Temps are still pretty low (ie today's max is 9deg, currently -1) but that will improve.

It always amazes me too how a change in weather improves people's attitudes as well.

Cabbage Tree Creek has flooded before, so pretty likely if the rain keeps up.

Any idea how Downfall Creek is going? That also used to flood at times.

Whilst it rained steadily today at home, the level has been maintained around the 1m level.

Downfall Creek - no idea, but I'll see if I can drive past it (so long as I don't have to drive through it )
