This is our peaceful dove.We have chased cats away when they are nesting and on this day rescued it from some mynas.Ever since if I am in the garden it will fly down.Doesn't come under a metre from me but usually they are very timid and you couldn't get that close.

.
Definitely not a pigeon.

The Rats with wings comments stand. Watched my Cat demolish one. Just the beak, feathers and feet left.

The button just pinged off my shorts and fell into the loo. I did not opt to retrieve it.

Yes you wouldn’t feel to close to that hand for a long time. Imagine a phone falling into the loo.

We have adult magpie and kids about 25m from our house. Parent (mum, dad? who does the foraging and feeding in the magpie nest?) is great: flies past us on the way to collect bugs etc. Yesterday I was mowing the back yard and whilst stopped at one side, the magpie flew on down to the cut grass area and looked at me for a couple of seconds, then when they realised I was stopping and watching him/her back, they started collecting some food. After a minute, magpie flies off and I continue mowing.

We might just be lucky... no swooping around our suburb this spring.
We have a family that "lives" in the front yards of ours and neighbours houses. Been there for several seasons. Parents ride shotgun over the one-three chicks. Very friendly. They come over when you weed the garden or cut the grass for snacks of what's just been uncovered.

We always treat them well and it is reciprocated.

MIL used to feed 20 of them, insanity really. They were so tame if the food was late some would come through the dog flap on the back door and wander into the kitchen!

This is one of our magpies that come every day to raid the dogs food. Taken this morning. (rubber mats for our 17.5 year old dog that slips on the terra cotta tiles)

Why do my pictures load sideways??

Why do my pictures load sideways??

Used to be a problem with pics taken on iThings. Cure was to go into the phone pic editing area and crop a smidgen off the bottom then post as usual. But I thought the issue didn't happen with the new forum software.

The room prices in Las Vegas have crashed. Circus Circus at $22USD to New York New York at $49USD were in an email last night.

We will be in Vegas for Xmas, Ron as rebooked our hotel at a cheaper rate and a upgrade !

Awoke at 5.45 this morning to a big bang outside and our power goes out - get up and check outside to find this has happened in our meter box !!!! Neighbours come out to check whats happened as they heard it too and see whats happening, they thought we had been hit by lightening.
Trying to find a 24 hour emergency electrician at 6am was  difficult !!! And we needed Energex as well as it has blown our fuse box in the street as well !

NOT A GOOD START TO THE DAY !!

That looks like a power surge into your home = not your expense!

The one and only time my (old) phone fell into the loo at work, I said it had fallen into the washing up water as I had to take it apart and dry it out on the monitor and people were asking why. Too much info.

Yes you wouldn’t feel to close to that hand for a long time. Imagine a phone falling into the loo.
