We need to have a chat next time we meet and compare notes.

The pilot salaries I know about are at least double mine has ever been so not sure what they are doing wrong. I would also expect they have a much better superannuation plan than the rorting companies that manage my superannuation.

Do they expect the same income in retirement? I will be happy with half the income in retirement to what I'm earning now and I think I will have a comfortable life and still travel. My expectations are simple.

From the your numerous posts in the past on your job, co workers, employer and salary, maybe it's time to consider its your attitude towards the above is what's holding you back?

Once saw Wallabies v England and we were sitting right next to the Barmy Army. Loud but impressive.

Shooting in Texas church... Cue thoughts and prayers rubbish.

If God's not going to save you while you're in church praying, then you better start Plan B on gun control, which is actually do something about it.

Really?

My thoughts on life are what's caused Australian IT salaries to be aligned with what IT people are paid in Bombay and Manila?

And my thoughts on life are what's causing the company to only increase salaries by 1% a year?

Interesting suggestion but you're not quite right. The company chooses to pay everyone the same when they hire them but then not bother to differentiate between them when they actually see the skills levels of each person they've hired. Someone that churns through the work shouldn't be paid the same as someone who asks 7 different people for assistance everyday. But that's what happens. Extremely de-motivating.

And now they've rearranged the desks to have people sitting on top of each other. I'll see if I can whinge enough to get a partition installed so that I'm focusing on my computer screen and not the person that is 1 metre away on my right.

You don't do this to your staff if you care about productivity.

From your previous posts, I have clerical staff that make the same to almost twice as much as you and they are keyboard punchers and they still get raises and bonuses.

In my 30yr experience in payroll, good staff get rewarded.

Did I mention Aussie Post is already working Saturday? Got a delivery at our door on Sat morning, was shocked/happy that he didnt leave a card in the box.

Then you have not come across this company. I can assure my attitude is not holding me back. I'd love for you to be able to talk to some of the others with 20+ years experience treated the same.

I think that's 3 years now we have not had a performance review. The board says to IT you have so much money for salary increases this year and they pretty much divide it up equally between all staff. This is the first place I have worked where performance is not taken into consideration unless you do something bad and then you don't get any increases.

Saying you should simply become a pilot is like saying you should have/could have written a book. Reality is a long way from ‘should have/could have.

That isn’t what I’m saying. It’s just a throw away line to say ‘I should have’. It doesn’t mean anything.

Congratulations. Was drron born with a beard? Even totaling 2 marriages I have only clocked up 32 years.

Just stayed in Adelaide with some friends whom I met when our respective daughters were in year 4. Daughters are now in their 40s and friends are married 47 years.

Just as we were leaving my friend asked if I noticed anything different about him. I had thought that he was looking rather youthful but didn't realise he had shaved the beard he had for 40 years plus. I hadn't seen him sans beard before.

As per several posts above, more senseless killings in the States, guess it will never change.

But shhh, it 's not the time to talk about mass shootings...
