I'd say the biggest here that I saw were maybe 2/3 to 3/4 the size of a golf ball.

So what are you Melbournians doing indoors? Go get a helmet (and some bubble wrap if you want) and a nine iron and get outside:!:

Imagine how much money you save not going to the driving range.

Well you have your hail, and I have a burn on the top of my hand now from the oven grill as I was putting the bacon in it. I never realised flesh could smell like it was on fire. It wasn’t though, but have a large red patch of skin and the burn-aid seems to be taking away the sting.

Note to self: Avoid being outside when hail stones fall from the sky.
So true. I remember playing golf at Howlong one afternoon and managed to get 18 holes in when I thought I better go back around for another quick 18 holes before it got dark. Got to about the 6th hole and the sky around me was black. I headed for the pro shop quickly (a longish walk) but did not quite make it. Hail can be dangerous

We are sitting right on the southern end of a huge thunderstorm. Lots of lightening BUT fortunately no hail (yet).;)

I would be worried more about the 3m croc running around Palmerston later this week, always check the pool twice before jumping in up north

I saw the video (on the news) of Flemington racecourse...wow, lucky they weren't running a race when it hailed.

I haven’t looked at the weather maps, but was there any hail damage around the airport, were any planes damaged etc?

I heard the roof of Etihad stadium collapsed, but the live pictures from the semifinal game this evening didn’t show any damage in my mind.

The damage seemed to be to office roofs, so not the actual stadium roof.

Ahh, wonder why crowds weren’t allowed into the upper section then… whatever. Seems a little odd. Good game nonetheless, though maybe not if you support the Dockers.

I think any Dockers supporters would be used to losing by now...

Certainly a little rough coming in to MEL on QF447 about 45 minutes ago.

1755 in the QP and an announcement that no further flights will be leaving MEL until further announcement but then immediately afterwards announcing the SYD flight boarding.
