A rather sore point.Anna promised the Sunshine Coast that the new pipeline to Brissy would not be used if our dams fell below 70%.Now SEQwater tells us by design the pipeline must be continually used so even now water from the Sunshine coast is being pumped to Brissy.

She knows not to confuse sales with delivery :)

Re: A Rube Goldberg Music Video

This unusual item came in my CodeProject daily news feed:

Make: Online : Rube Goldberg music video

It’s a very cool video by OK Go, but they always make good videos. Saw it a couple days ago, but not with the details write-up. I’d love to see a behind the scenes of the video at some point as I can’t imagine it all went to plan the first time.

When Mythbusters did a similar thing 3 years ago, it took 10 tries for them to get it working properly... With all the interacting parts, it is very hard to construct such machines.

What a great start to the day. On my way home after doing a server migration, to duck in for a shower and just around the corner from home someone changes lanes (went over 2 lanes, illegal) into where I was turning, cut me off, and smashed my front end as I slammed on the breaks and into his car. Even better news? He has no insurance, and has only been in .au for 2 weeks so no AU drivers license. I'll have to claim on mine, which has a reasonable size excess thanks to being under 25. Great.:evil::evil:

Not a good start to the day indeed.

It's ridiculous how one has to cough up a payment when clearly it's another idiot (the underlined word is used extremely lightly and being very polite) who is completely at fault.

In my corner, finally got to work after silly Friday + rain traffic. It's amazing the more that I drive and look at traffic in BNE, the more I realise how s*** we actually are behind the wheel. And it's not just the under 25s any more (you hear, all you insurance pundits! So stop bl**dy stereotyping!)

I've switched back to Firefox at work today from Chrome. Already seeing the effect as my system is running at fairly normal speed, plus CPU usage with 10 tabs open is barely over 10% (compared to about 90% with Chrome), plus total memory usage (Firefox, Outlook, Word, 2 x Excel, 2 x Powerpoint) is just over 1.1GB / 2GB (compared to about 1.4GB with Chrome).

I'm also blessing the tab opening system of Firefox w/ TabMixPlus compared to the relatively illogical and uncontrollable system in Chrome.

I've yet to see if Firefox is going to throw up its usual crashing habits upon me which made me move to Chrome in the first place.

That sucks, but FWIW I have always claimed on my insurance and let them deal with the other inurance company/driver.

Might be an idea. I have his number, name, home address, and a copy of his chinese drivers license...

That's a pita. Hope you get it sorted ok. As has been said, you should be able to get your insurance company to deal with it and chase them up.

I heard the average dam capacity is now at 82% (as of last weekend).

As of this morning 84.4%.Wivenhoe-76.5%-last friday was 61%.
85.8 today and going to continue rising

Home | Seqwater

Its interesting that the in-flow in just over a month (85.8 today - 69.9 26 Jan = 15.9%) has been almost than the amount in storage at the minimum (16.72% recorded 21/08/2007).

Funny how the water grid is not getting too much of a mention, thats right, they still have no way of diverting the overflow from North Pine to Somerset which would then flow into Wivenhoe

That is a right royal PITA...but that's the way they drive over in China. Whose car was he driving?

Looks like I may not be getting a lift in a couple of weeks. We can play by ear - happy to get a taxi.

Ah! I should have the car back by then. I've got another car I can drive anyway :)

He got his car last night! So his.

Sux.

Is there any way to claim back the excess (small claims court etc?) if you prove he was at fault, you could claim the "loss" of the excess??

Yes, recovery of the excess from the party at fault should be Flashware's priority. Hopefully, his insurer will help.
