Haven't they got better things to do than calculating if the day was 1.26 microseconds shorter or not after an earthquake.I wondered why my day felt a little shorter than usual:
And only a couple of years behind Brisbane.Call me biased, but having travelled to quite a few places now I'd be happy to say that I do think Perth has one of the nicest all year round climates in the world.
Sounds good. We got 3.25% last July....Just had my annual performance review - given a 7.8% pay rise this year (last year only 4%). Looks like the economy is heading in the right direction.
Yeah, I was pleasently surprised... All the best for July mate.Sounds good. We got 3.25% last July....

Surprisingly enough there are towns/areas in NZ that are nearly out of water. I missed the names but it gave me a real surprise. For all those in SEQ, the total water storage is finally above 80%, with more water still flowing into Wivenhoe!
Now, how quick can we use all that water and be in the same situation we were in a few years ago?

It depends if there is a Blue moon coming or not.So is it time to start bathing again?

One of the issues is that Wivenhoe and Somerset dams have is that Wivenhoe was built (in part) to absorb extra water and stop it flooding Brisbane.
Seeing Somerset's overflows reach Wivenhoe, if the dams are too full then Brisbane could have a flooding situation should a cyclone or other weather condition cause extensive and prolonged rain spells.
Wivenhoe takes a lot more water than you think-at 100% capacity they are measuring drinking water capacity so it can take another 1.17 times that volume for flood mitigation-obviously a long way to go yet.
A very good point. But seeing how quickly the dams have filled from virtually nothing about a year ago, the dams can fill rather quickly if "the right type of rain" occurs.
Hopefully the brainboxes who work for SEQ water know what they're doing and not relying on Anna Blight to direct them into a Politically "correct" use of the dams.
I thought there was a program, or at least a procedure, that calculates the day of the week.Well, there are people who take delight in, say, predicting the day of the week on so-and-so a Gregorian date in ump-teen thousand years into the future.
So New Zealand is creeping up on Australia. Well it is time for Australia to start moving away from New Zealand. Also, remember DJ's recent sale pitch for it's Trans-Tasman flights: "Last year NZ came 30 cm closer to us, so we've passed the savings onto you: fly to NZ now whilst they're still international." :-|
A rather sore point.Anna promised the Sunshine Coast that the new pipeline to Brissy would not be used if our dams fell below 70%.Now SEQwater tells us by design the pipeline must be continually used so even now water from the Sunshine coast is being pumped to Brissy. If they finish that water sharing pipeline maybe they can find a new dam to fill when the others are done…
A year ago we were at 47%, but it rose to 60% by April and 70% by July, so we weren’t too badly off last year.
