Hi all, I suspect a post about travel is possibly on-topic and thus shouldn't be here, but my issue is a trivial one and is so general in nature I could not think of anywhere else to share it

I fly a lot - working in Colombia but family based now on the Sunny Coast in Queensland. My two darling daughters lived in Colombia for a while, and somehow I manged to make their few flights to and from here in business class. And to a child the QF product is not at all shabby!(sometimes I, almost two metres tall, weep at the wastage of my little ones occupying a true lie-flat seat )

They certainly enjoyed those flights being "up the front", but I suspected they were getting spoilt, which is wrong.

Anyway, my eldest just went on a school trip to Japan. Flying SQ in, horror of horrors, economy! An all night two leg flight BNE-SIN then SIN-HND. She was in the second last row, stuck between two other students. She only managed to sleep an hour.

I feel her pain, but I truly loved hearing her express the recognition of the privilege she had had up to that point

edit: and BTW, the only reason I was ever able to get them so much J experience was due to tricks and knowledge I gained on this forum - not only has it given them great memories, it has also helped me raise the bar of their expectations in Life

Our youngest surrogate granddaughter had a privileged life flying J internationally on holidays.Her mother had to fly home to see her father who was in a serious way.Couldn't make plans for her daughter so took her.They flew Y.
Daughter says to her mother-"Mummy what's economy?"

Funny you should mention this. My son’s friend (school mates from Reception to Year 12) studied Sports Science at Uni after school. Worked with the Crows and introduced biomedical testing to the AFL years ago. Went to the US and started working with College Teams and now is the Chief of the Eagles Sport Science (called something different) so he’s off to Super Bowl with the Eagles and is accredited to go - well, on the lines I guess! Go James!

You have just explained the problem completely. You are never going to have good luck on a golf course as you are playing the Devil's Game.

Try it in real life (not in a game) and oh so often it does work.

Similarly a friend used his large payout to fly his family around the world in F. Teen son on a walk around the J cabin said to Dad how crowded it was back there.....

Am familiar with that place. You’d need a room away from the street and the very large and noisy Coogee Bay Hotel with a large noisy outside beer garden.

I would have pererred you had nor posted that as I didnot know the result. Was at work with today's games being recorded.II was planning to watch tomorrow night.

Anyhoo, not to worry - I should have requested no spoilers until Wednesday - but I didn't.

Just watched the earlier game - the winning team had three touchdown drives with over half the gain over the three from penalties. Not a single defensive penalty against them either.

I won't bother watching any more this season ...

It took a couple of days but my new ESTA for US Travel has come thru. I had to update it because my passport had run down to 3 months left so it was renewal time.
The US Federal shut down seems to be ending tonight.
Nothing like a good mix up in America.
