Not too warm in London... off to Madrid, where its warmer (but still only a few degrees!). Every little counts when trying to get the Aussie Day feeling :D

Pack wet wipes!

Sounds horrifying for the country.
been a very bad drought in South and East Africa for some years. I think the east is getting some relief, but not in the South. Add to that lack of planning and building of infrastructure and a poor population who haven’t supported restrictions. DA and ANC seem to be blaming each other....

Once Stellenbosch progresses with their bore drilling, that will help as it'll stop them feeding off the Cape Town supplies.

Nothing like having a session in the hydrotherapy pool cut short by a child with a leaking No 2 nappy...

Pool had to be shut for the day (still 2 hours to closing).

Would be helpful if parents stuck to the family/ children pools instead of bringing them into the therapy pool and inconveniencing the people using it for health reasons.

So we are riding on this trail up a little hill out in the boonies of Kenya.
I ask our guide. why is there a pipeline running up this hill ?
Oh , he says , that was a world bank funded project to bring water to this area; but the government siphoned off the money that was for the dam and the pipeline is now abandoned.
The sad story of Africa ,, lovely people but hopelessly corrupt governments

Sorry, it's not just the African continent, graft and corruption are rife worldwide, imo, not just confined to third world countries.........

Greed is a very nasty human trait..... again imo. Panama Papers for example, anyone?

How can a team make such hard work of a win after having the opposition 5 wickets for 8 runs? OK, so a win is a win, but it was excruciating to watch, maybe they should pick the best players available regardless of apparent personality clashes. Surely you want the best team out there, regardless whether you have an issue with them or not.

it is unfortunately and seems to be getting worse. The greed is good philosophy, or maybe just more publicity makes it seem more prevalent?

I think it resonates more in third world countries though, as the disparity is so large. There is greed and corruption in Australia as well, but not the incredible poverty of Africa. South Africa really upsets me, as after the apartheid years there was such a surge of hope, So much needed to be done and quite a wealthy, resources rich country. However the corruption is now out of control - money that should be used to build classrooms is siphoned off for luxury homes, I just hope Ramaphosa can wind back some of it.

Despot Housewives was an interesting watch.

If I was married a dictator or warlord, I would be encouraging education, science and growth, remind them that their legacy can be greater than a despot. But nooooo, let's strip the country of everything while shopping for designer watches. Don't they know it usually ends in either a quick execution at the back of the palace or sanctuary in the middle east.

My husband is posting photos like this all over DFO...

I told him to sit on the couches with all the other miserable men.
...
It's different these days, just sit the man down with a smart device, data and enough battery juice and off you go. :p

Foo Fighters concert tonight, went to check in, or leave bags till check in, and hear the words "upgrade" and "suite". :)

Bathtub is huge, I remember the swim from one to the other, wish I had some Lush bath bombs.

I love them too :). Between Christmas, Mother’s Day and my birthday I have a constant supply from the kids. My favourite is the one with rose petals, although that does take some cleaning up afterwards.

My other favourite is the Pure Fiji bath soak range. I have now corrupted Mr FM into baths. He sneered at me for years with my bath addiction, but last winter his shoulder was giving him a lot of trouble, so I suggested a hot bath and now he is a convert to hot baths in winter. It is a bit annoying, as I now have to queue..... We do have two baths, but I like the big bath in the ensuite and so does he :)
