On Saturday, I finally got all frocked up and received my degrees!


It felt a little odd stepping on to the uni campus for one last time - uni now feels like a world away and I can't believe I've been working for 5 months already!

Congrats, looks like you had a great day. Now for the next one.

I've been to all of my graduations (3 of them) and loved them all. None of them on a Saturday though. Can't say I frock up as well you though.

Well I finally got power back, some 12 hours or so after it went out. Our 2 direct neighbours both had their garage + wine cellar flood, we were lucky in that ours ended up completely dry!

The office next door to mine lost their roof, too.

St James only got power back at 5pm.

Work got a drenching but luckily no flooding but with no power all day very little acheived.

Glad to have the power back as you really notice it after not having it for 24+ hours.

Well I had a fun night on AFF, and just like IM’ing, my posts are now no more, but it’s all good

Interesting story on the news this evening about the various tunnels under Sydney, from when they defended against the French and Russians, to the marble bar under the Hilton that was relocated piece by piece. Very interesting stuff.

I think I did well in that regard as I was watching TV and only ever checking back in the ad breaks. Looking forward to what happens in Survivor next week, less so with Top Gear as I think NINE is repeating an old episode again

I’ve always been fond of consolidating back-to-pack posts so as not to pad posts counts, but I think this is a different topic. I’m not going to create a separate thread though.

Some of you in-the-know may know what Chat Roulette* is, others may have watched the news and think it’s where the pedophile’s hang out. Either way, it’s not so bad a place, though I’ve never been game to use it myself.

I’ve come across a number of youtube videos about good experiences on it and this one caught my eye tonight from a friend on Twitter, as it’s Ben Folds (he reached #5 on the Aria’s one year and #3 on Triple J too, pretty good musician).

I guess there is no right or wrong. That is what most people try and do and I try to do that as much as possible.

Sometimes though when I open a thread I see 4-5 one line posts in a row (quoting another poster each time) by the same poster. Perhaps this poster is just lazy, does not know how to consolidate posts, does not care. It does not make for easy reading. Also not easy reading is people who quote a whole post and then respond to a line somewhere in the 3rd paragraph. I know people are time poor but I am firm believer in reading my post a couple of times (even after I have posted) and correcting spelling errors.

But what do I know! I am an obsessive compulsive....

That is annoying, I try to trim posts when replying to a specific point.

I suppose we’re all different.

Dear old Qantas has just rung me regarding my flt LAX/BNE on 13th Sept, telling me this and future flts on Mondays are hence forth and forevermore cancelled!!!! But, have we got a deal for you flying home via SYD, or MEL, with a few hours time off in the QP, will only extend your trip by 5 to 6 hours, AHHHHHH.
After a few words of wisdom to the operator, they were able to still put me in J on Friday 10th direct.
Why oh why do they do this on a regular basis ?

I also got the message today for Monday 27th.Unfortunately it also meant 17 sectors for my DONE4 flying via SYD.However able to rebook for 28th.

Yeah I can't say I've been posting much to this thread.

Just saw a pretty funny parody advert on the Lynx/Axe type of adverts mixed in with a parody of the Guinness adverts (ie where a bloke gets "attacked" by women after spraying on the stuff). This one was for Specsavers and the standard stuff happened when he sprayed on the deo ... until he put on his glasses and they all turned away (as in should have gone to Specsavers).

Aaah the joys of tv. At least the ad was relatively funny.
