...at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in MEL .. absolutely phenomenal stuff! :D

So Melbourne named their Music Bowl to sound like it is in 'Sydney'. Oh, that is just cheeky.

If NSW built a Music Bowl and it was co-sponsored by Myer, it could be called the 'Sydney Myer Music Bowl'.

I had to re-read that line several times, thinking notzac couldn’t have made such a simple mistake ;)

Actually Sidney Myer was one of the co-founders of Myer's Emporium in Ballarat IIRC. If ever you work for them you get to see the video about the brothers. The Myer family has a great history of philanthropy and the bowl was one of their gifts to Melbourne.

Did any posts go missing overnight? I could swear I saw some posts in some threads that have now disappeared....

I saw the wikipedia article, but the facts took all the fun out of the NSW vs Vic comment. ;)

I can't seem to find the thread referring to the QP PER renovations so here goes.

This morning we rocked up to the QP in PER expecting to find an overcrowded unpleasant mess and it looked like it was though we never actually got to find out.

On arrival the kind lady on the desk mentioned the overcrowding and pointed us to the Chairman's Lounge instead :!:  :D

A smallish almost empty lounge awaited which was really nice. Nothing special though the bar was open before 10am. After a week with my Pilot's Course friends all I could handle was a bottle of water. What a waste :!:

So so envious!!

No more than 5 of my posts went missing, though I’m not sure from where.
Would be interesting to see which threads, if any, were affected. Wouldn't want the 250,000th post thread to be affected again.

What a shame! Could you have asked for a rain check? :p

So it is just a regular QP except possibly better (or at least different) decor? And a bar that opens from 10am?

A photo would have been nice, but oh well. :)

A regular though quieter QP. Not really worth a photo even. The J lounges in SYD and MEL are much more modern.

I did not mean the bar opened at 10am, I was trying to say, rather ineloquently, that the bar was open when we got there just before 10am. The cold drinks were in a big cold drinks cupboard that did not have a lock and the spirits etc were out on display. Similar to International lounges.

Sue thought this was pretty special as this was the flight that made her up to Platinum.

In a way I’d sort of expect a CL to be an older style lounge, as it’s more associated with old world power and money to me than anything anyone could hope to attain these days, you know? It shouldn’t be flashy or new, it should be leather couches with smoke hanging in the air :p

Did you notice any spirits you’ve not seen in a QP or J lounge?

Congratulations to her!

My friend got this a couple of weeks ago. She thought she was special. I thought it was for providing sexual favours. Seems neither of us were correct. I can't wait to tell her she ain't that special. ;)

Now will there be a race to PG? :p Just kidding.... besides, what would you do with PG now since you're both WPs?

My uncle is CL, so have been into the PER CL.. never thought it was anything that great. Did have a nice chat with the CEO of BHP though :p
