Some entitled jerk from 2D on Saturday was about to shove his bag into my 1A overhead on Saturday as I was boarding. Quick as a flash I threw in my handbag and said “Thank you so much” and sat down, while he was still bending down to zip up his bag. He was absolutely furious, shouted at me and went to grab my handbag out. Thankfully, Mr Qantas in 1C stopped him with a ‘Don’t you dare touch this young ladies handbag”. The Jerk thumped around and muttered and squashed his (turned out to be 2nd) large carry on into his own overhead compartment. I’m getting to the point....

....Up until 6 months ago, I would have meekly accepted being pushed aside, and overlooked.

Nowadays..... “I am Woman, hear me roar”!

I don't get the point of this sort of behaviour - what is the (perceived) advantage of the 1A compartment (for the 2D pax)?

Not having to have luggage shared with the great unwashed (in QF J)?

Especially as in row 1 your bag MUST go in the overhead

Depends where the 02 emergency equip is, sometimes you have to share only one row 1 compartment and the guy sounds like he had too much carry on (not knowing the airline rule).

And lets not forget he 1, shouted at her (wtf) and then attempted to remove her property. Yeah, nah. Thats not going to happen.

I had a guy ATL-SCL try to remove my husband overhead from its space, I told the guy touch the bag and I'll give him what for. He of course didnt understand "I'll give you what for" meant but knew not to upset the big, angry, tired, middle aged woman and left the bag alone.

Edit: I posted the photo elsewhere but this was a guy with oversized carryon.

Not sure if this should be here on in the Humour thread. It's a bit too serious for Humour though!
Guardian Australia asked the Queensland chairman of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr Bruce Willett, to look at some of the more dubious entries.

The claim: ‘harmonise intestines’
Willett says: Terms such as ‘harmonise intestines’ and ‘resolve spleen weakness’ have no factual basis. Harmonising intestines is done through a healthy diet and exercise.

The claim: ‘strengthening heart blood’
Willett says: The claim of ‘strengthening heart blood’ is misleading, as we have the same blood go through our heart as the rest of the body. This could be dangerous for a person with a heart condition who takes this vitamin or herb in the belief that they may fix or improve their heart.

The claim: ‘expel heat in intestine’
Willett says: There is no physiological basis for ‘expel stagnant heat’ or ‘expel heat in intestine’ – a cool drink or an air-conditioner could be said [to do] the same thing.

The claim: ‘extinguish internal heat’
Willett says:Using an unproven medication to dispel/expel/extinguish/disperse/clear internal heat may lead patients to ignore serious conditions like lymphoma or thyroid disease with disastrous consequences.

Do your intestines need harmonising? Health claims list infuriates doctors

Two young men were handcuffed behind their backs and taken to an awaiting vehicle from our building in Melbourne. You always wonder what the problem was but don’t dare ask. I was walking in just as they were departing.

Thats when youre on good terms with the building manager and can phone him to the gos :)

Could anyone recommend online business card printers? Just need plain, nothing fancy for my daughter a specialist doctor. She doesn't get around to it.

They were captured in the reception area rather than from an apartment so I think the reception/concierge may know the gos.

My first job was cleaning toilets at a pub on the corner of George and Hunter streets in Sydney.
I was into my second week when I was called upstairs. The was a function of the Australian American society and they were having a coughtail party for the US Secretary of State I believe.Several of the usual waiters had called in sick.Fortunately they had a tux which fitted so I ended up serving champagne to the Secretary and US Ambassador. One asked what I did so I answered I'm a Uni student.Thought it might have been a bit unsettling to say I have just come up from cleaning the toilets.

I believe I had a drink at that spot at one time. Interesting mention in this article

Row 1 has barely any overhead locker space. For some reason a lot of J Pax seem to take way too much on board luggage and just help themselves to all the locker space, totally ignoring row ones need for overhead space. When I’m row 1, I have to board early so that I can at least use the tiny locker above me.

This guy was so angry that I stood up for myself and used MY locker space. After I said thank you with my brightest smile, he actually spat out at me “Don’t be so condescending”!

The jerk was 65ish. Well dressed, but overweight. Briefcase etc.

I’m not sure if I should divulge my knight in shining armour’s age, however, he’s slightly younger than the jerk.

That is why we go row 2 or 3.
Yes. Mr ALH refuses to sit in Row 1. Happiest in Row 2!

I do a lot of flying with friends, and we all have a competition to get Sequence 1, Seat: 1A

On Saturday, Mr Qantas kindly arranged 1A for me

Oh bother.Last week was Pisco Sour week and I only found out today.:(

Ha ha. Last night I actually went to open the bottle of Pisco that I bought IN Pisco last year. It was a really expensive one so I hope it’s good. However, Son in Law turned up and made us all Margaritas instead.
