MrP flew to NZ for work yesterday at 6.30am, ADL-Mel-Wellington-Rotorua. Ended up last night being Wellington-Rotorua-Wellington as when they arrived due to weather they couldn’t land. Found him a hotel and was rebooked on a flight at 6.30 this morning (SA time meant leaving the hotel @3.30am and due to start work in NZ time @9am). Flew Wellington -Rotorua-Wellington. Yup. Another boomerang. Currently he’s on a flight to Auckland and will bus it to Rotorua. It’s a 4 hour bus trip. He’s a bit knackered. Peeved. Over travel. And Wednesday evening he goes back to Auckland and flies back to Adelaide on Thursday.

That sounds sucky. We drove to from Auckland to Rotorua on our first trip to NZ. Not having a clue about the country mountains, flew Rotorua to Christchurch and I still remember the clouds clearing and seeing the mountains.

Hope he can sleep on the bus.

Sadly he’s not a bus sleeper. He will be in his business suit. Meant to be working right now not travelling. Not sure how we can bill the client either.

Interesting article in the news about Oprah Winfrey’s car give away. It cost the company over 7million USD for everyone to receive a car. But what the show didn’t highlight was that each recipient had to pay up to $7000 in Government Taxes depending on their income. The audience were pre selected in terms of need for updating their car. They were hardly likely to afford stumping up that cash. But what a weird tax system they have in the US. They were offered cash in lieu of the car if they didn’t want to pay that tax.

Ouch. Now that really hurts.
Not so much as the current update:
“Well .... now I'm in a chock full fogged in mini bus towing a luggage trailer just about to leave Auckland airport for 3 HR plus drive which driver says is no stops.
And currently pouring here and with flooding near Rotorua.”

I hope he doesn’t read the media tonight with cyclone bearing down via Fiji :(

Uggh - is it worth it at this stage? The fogged in mini bus would do me in - I need fresh air and that sounds stuffy.

He has no choice really. Has to try to get to the client somehow.
