Flash, please go to Pinnies and Poppies shortbread and report back. It's about a block away from you :)

I follow them on Instagram and she said they're open.

Anything specific that I shall report back on? That would of course mean getting dressed rather than laying around in the dressing gown :D

Terry towelling kilt? Uber eats?

She makes small batches, today's bake is

It's on my list of places to go as I haven't had good shortbread since my friends grandmother died.

I must admit I am too stingy to pay hotel laundry charges. I generally take laundry powder with me and wash undies by hand. Laundromats are easy to find and do a big wash once or twice through a trip. Of course in your case with an unexpected stranding it is worth it.
I won't use hotel laundry services. If staying more than 4-5 days will use the cheap laundries that are available for t-shirts and pants and buy some laundry powder from 7-Eleven to wash underwear in the bathroom.

Still property confiscation. I’m sure the ANC sees the resumption of farmland as contributing to something superior.

Most people I think understand the reason for taxation, however there is very little to show for it. A lot of it is spent on hare brained ideas with little social or financial returns. There is much expenditure that is not societal infrastructure...
Most people understand the need for taxation but fail to understand the harebrained ideas of selling off cash cows and then wanting to raise more taxes to make up the shortfall. And yes infrastructure is one of them.

We are one of the highest taxed nations in the world and an ageing population that does not contribute as much to the nations coffers.

My first thought was similar happened in Zimbabwe and look how well that went.

Was thinking of going to SA next year but hubby wants Iceland. My boss was talking about Kenya and Narobi yesterday for photography safari instead.
what Ramaphosa is saying is very sensible and measured. Whether he can control his extremists is another question

Ramaphosa: Land motion 'no reason to panic or start beating war drums'

Something I discovered which I should have known but didn’t, is the land problems date from 1913 when a law was passed reserving the best and most arable areas for whites. They represented less than 20% of the population, but 80% of the farmland was only allowed to be owned by whites.

I racked up about 200 CHF (Swiss Francs) in laundry charges after being there two weeks!

I’m amused by the comment re not taking clothes that need to be ironed on holiday. I don’t even have clothes needing ironing at home! Handy given I don’t actually own an iron.

Got served lemon slices in my soda water today without asking for them......... Not happy!

Well, I am actually, it tasted really good. :)

You should tape over your Web cam thingy so the nsa fbi man cant spy on you.

I always thought bartenders served it with lemon for the guys glass, straw for the lady.

I’ve stopped drinking soft drinks including the diet stuff. But quite like it fizzy.

Same here, can't remember the last time I had a sweet fizzy drink. I had a sip of the bosses c cola the other day just to see if I still didn't like it or not. Nope, still don't.
She has a small can now and again when she feels a migraine coming on.

I should have added that instead of diet whatever, I’ll now get sparkling water

I gave up on fizzy soft drinks after recent visit to USA. They keep topping up sofa when at restaurants over there . In the end started ordering sofa water.
