Watching Gerard Depardieu food show reminds me of things I use to have growing up and havent since I lived at home, my mum was a good cook.

Things I wished I knew how to make like mum, chicken giblet and heart risotto (my job was to clean the giblets) and her stuffed artichoke (cooked in a pressure cooker) .

My dad use to make a dried cod dish called Baccala, that I hated. It smelled.

I think I just vomited a little.

Don't damage the stitches :D
I do have a script for codeine but Panadol is plenty. I just have to grapple with this cavern in my mouth. Salt water rinses allowed now. But I will fill the script. Although codeine clogs me.

So. I see we arrive 5 minutes earlier now. Why does Qantas go overboard with these?

You left us in suspenders Denali. “Pavolova wants to make me ???????” Boo. You edited.

I understand your thoughts about lamb Denali. You see I do listen to you sometimes.

I got multiple similar flight upgrades for next month, zero time change but lots of updates.

My mum also use to make very thin crepes, so thin you could see through them, put a bit of filling and roll them up.

I cant be the only one that has food memories they miss from when we were kids.

Not sure - my mother is a terrible cook. I remember tripe and brawn ( from boiled sheep's head) and lambs fry.
One stable was sausages (the only meat I think she ever bought) and 3 veg which at least was safe. We ate a lot of lamb as we lived on a farm and had a killer flock.
I remember school lunches of camp pie and tomato sauce
On the other hand she could cook a good sponge.

Im a no to tripe as well, my brother likes it though.

How to catch razer claim with salt.

My mother was an awful cook. She will admit that. My grandmother lived with us and she was a great cook. She made excellent pavlovas and she would cook one each year for the then Boyfriend of Pushka. Now known as MrP. Just in case you were wondering. :)

I’ve officially had too many sparkling wines and pain killers. I’ve just waved on messenger to one of my 32 year old sons friends thinking he was my other son. Same name.

I have a Magic washing basket!
My son has one of those. He and his partner have to live apart at the moment due to her work. He drops his stuff off here and collects it clean a couple of days later as it’s a waste of their money getting 2 washing machines.

My mother was not a bad cook but there were a few clangers.

Vegetables were generally overcooked or from a packet - good old surprise peas! Funnily enough both my sister and I now favour salad over cooked vegetables.

The two dishes that stick in my mind are spaghetti and tuna which was this tuna/ onion/ maybe mornay like sauce that was served on spaghetti. My sister loved it so always asked for it for her birthday. I hated it! We also got fed kidneys and bacon to help with iron levels. Used to make me gag and I remember seeing the kidneys jump out of the hot pan. Needless to say, I eat neither these days!

Ah. Yes. Tuna mornay. Canned tuna. Canned corn cobs. Peas. Hard boiled potatoes. Some kind of sauce. Yum. Not.

Corned beef. White sauce. Peas. Hard boiled potatoes. Yum. Not.

Curry. Some kind of stewed meat. Sultanas. Pineapple. Hard baked potatoes. Yum. Not.

Lamb chops. Burnt. Yay flavour. Peas. Potatoes boiled. Not.

Bread and butter pudding. Bread. Egg (curdled) custard. Sultanas. Yum. Not.

I was so skinny when I was 20. And tall. In hindsight maybe not a bad thing. I didn’t each much. I wonder why?

I think sauerkraut and some beans were the only canned food we had. Even beans were usually the ones you had to soak.

Sunday was usually roast veal and veg. I vaguely recall that was the start of my sisters husband estrangement 40yrs ago with my parents as he had negative things to say about the sunday roast veal and veg when drunk.

My mum never liked cooking, despite coming from an Italian family who lived to eat. She managed well, delivered some great meals to the table and put on a pretty good dinner party. ......But I remember a bad patch when we moved to an isolated mining town in the NT. Until we worked out what vegetables we could grow, we had a lot of dehydrated mashed potatoes and tinned peas.

The plus side, was fresh fish every night. It was a fisherman’s paradise.

Oh, I remember the tinned sweet corn & tuna mornays. BLECH!

Taught my husband how to use the sandwich maker today... Again.

Mmmmm. Mr ALH used the washing machine once (About 38 years ago). He ruined all of my clothes so has never been allowed near it again!

My mum is a very good cook. Not always perfect but has good imagination, creativity and variety. Makes great bread too. Also made pizza yesterday and I just had another piece today.
