But for us home delivery means going online and spending lots of time selecting stuff. Might as well go to shop on way home
I find most grocery shopping are for the same types of items so they are saved under past orders, just click the items you want to reorder.

I have my preferred brands, I dont mess around with too many different items.

I won't do online shopping for groceries as I'm retired and shopping after a good cup of coffee is one of the highlights of my day!

Is there an interest rates thread?
Anyone renegotiated to a lower rate? - as in go into bank and say I want a lower rate or else?

I just negotiated a (slightly) higher interest rate for a term deposit with the CBA. :) Basically it was "ING offer X - I'm already banking with them, please do better or else the funds go from you to them anyway".

Re shopping bags, I was a bit recalcitrant when they abolished the free ones at supermarkets. But I gradually got into the habit of keeping a stock of 4-6 in my car so if I forget to take today's back to the car, I still have a supply (I only use 1 or 2 per shop).

But the 'green, re-usable' things are just an environmental con.

Just came out of meetings to hear the Stephen Hawking news.

Correct about the portrayal in the movie Pushka, but I suppose given his situation being confined to a wheelchair after having a period of normal mobility perhaps could go to his state of mind and ultimate frustration

Wonder if The Big Bang will base a episode on his death, as the characters are huge fans.

We have been paying for bags since 2009.
So supermarkets can profit more? It's like Qantas and fuel surcharges.

If I go shopping it's usually done at short notice. I'm not going to carry re-useable bags with me at all times. It is ludicrous asking me to pay for the bags. It's not that difficult to expect that the cost of bags have already been factored as a cost of business.

What next? Charge the consumer for the packaging of products?
