Who has a $3k excess?
Thrifty by memory but my cheap excess insurance policy covered it for just in case.

Two of my managers reversed their cars and both didnt see/didnt sensor the air con shafts that were higher than the bumper/about rear window height... until they heard the boom from the rear glass imploding.

Maybe we need a "how to vomit while diving" thread? ;)

Yes please. This got me thinking about one of my Bucket List items of Humpback Whale diving in Tonga...and then it went off-piste to vomiting while scuba diving

Yes, but the driverless car doesn't rely on visual seeing, so shadows shouldn't matter? I haven't seen the external footage, only the vision of the person in the drivers seat, not paying attention.
My point was even with a driver watching the road, it's unlikely she would have been seen in time. She was invisible until she was right in front of the car.

Yes. I’ve been sitting here Fantasizing about scuba diving with the Humpback Whales in Tonga & Vommitng.
Lady Elliot Island in August. Whales were everywhere, you would hear them while diving and they would come under your boat, pop up and snort on you.

Niue was pretty good too but Lady Elliott, sitting in the restaurant having breakfast and watching the whales go past.

Edit: Very basic accom & meals

Europcar does.

When I got my license 45 years ago, if the only available spot required reverse parking, I'd keep driving until I found something else.

I got mine 41 years ago. Boyfriend at the time was an excellent driving instructor. Although in reality I had already been driving 4x4s in the outback and riding motor bikes since the age of 12.

I was so disappointed when I only had to drive once around the block with the local copper to obtain my licence. Didn’t have to show off my reverse parking or 3 point turn skills.

Never had any fear of any driving situations.

No problem with three point turns or for that matter, handbrake turns, it's just reverse parking that psyched me out for some reason.
A friend of mine was working as a nurse in the outback somewhere, she was given her truck license after being able to start and stop a prime mover in the main street. She said the main street was so wide that she could have turned an aircraft carrier around in it!
Don't think she has driven a truck since.

Nothing drive wise fazes me but 20yrs ago I witnessed a couple of fatalities and it really messed with me. Im a TERRIBLE passenger. Just terrible, which is why I usually drive the hire cars and hubby is the pax.

Jimmy Webb on Great Songwriters right now. Its interesting hearing some very rememberable songs performed in a different way than use to hearing it.

Galverston is considered a anti Vietnam song?

Edit: Molly is still alive?

Last year someone at work back into my car in the work car park. She claimed her sensors must not have beeped (relatively new BMW hatch). So clearly she was not looking either over her shoulder or on a reversing camera.
Cocaine at lunch does that to you.

I loved Jimmy Webb’s story about the bad rhyme in Wichita Linesman.:)

I still think my best parking effort was reverse parallel parking a car with a trailer first go - in Hindley St! Not sure if I could ever do it again, but it took the credit for it at the time. :D

We had a private box at the Sumo in Tokyo and those Japanese business men can put it away but they are such light weights, Im surprised they make it home.

One tried to get hubby to drink but he begged off, pointing at me and saying the boss wont let him drink it. They then tried to council him on being the man of the household.

A colleague from a few years ago told me that when she was an older teenager her father taught her how to drink a lot over lunch and still conduct business. She is from Singapore and a lot of business deals are conducted over lunch and you were also expected to respect your host and drink liberally - so they learn how to do it.

I haven't heard much said about Commonwealth Games next month and was surprised to see this invitation when I got home tonight.

GC2018 invitation said:
RSVP today

This exclusive in invitation for you and a guest - including flights, luxury accommodation and GC2018 tickets - is strictly limited. RSVP today to avoid disappointment.
I am not sure what is available, if anything left, but closing ceremony could be worth it. Anyone else receive similar invitation?

Unless he was teaching her how to slip her drinks onto a pot plant, this is very sad and if she was a minor, abusive.

Drink honey. I need you to learn how to play with the big boys. Now let me me put you in a position where your thought process and physical defense is affected and you could be sexualy abused or become an alcoholic.

Anyone that "builds up a tolerance" for regular drinking, so they appear sober but would fail or come close on a breathalyser is a regular drinker that can't go a few days without it. They can converse, might drive a car quite well, perform at work but blood alcohol level is high and they do it often/cant go without.

That’s nice. From whom? You sure it’s legit? I’d say closing ceremony seats long gone but worth a try.

Ok some inane bit of trivia:

It’s very important to get it in the right order when vomiting underwater scuba diving.

Breathe in
Take out regulator
Chuck
Put in regulator then repeat

Vomiting almost always involve a bit of breathing in prior. Don’t do that after regulator is removed. Some say chuck into regulator but I’m not sure what would happen if some chunky bits jam it
Did I need that bit of information?:D
Think I am unlikely to ever need it but thanks for sharing.:):p
