Did Yassmin get deported from the US?
She wanted to do work in the US but I don’t think her visa allowed her to work.
Same thing happened to a former employee of ours.

No is the short answer
She got the wrong visa but was allowed to withdraw her application to enter the country and so did not have a valid visa because she withdrew. By withdrawing her application for entry she did not jeopardise future applications for entry - allowing her to reapply for a correct visa ASAP without prejudice.

If she was deported she would be barred from future entry maybe 5 years?

Nothing to see here.

Likely the airline had to fly her back to LHR on the airline’s dime though she would have a return ticket which would have been deemed used due to the early turnaround and no refund applicable.

She was there for a speaking engagement and sent home by border control.

Apparently wrong visa but she used same visa for same reason many times before. Tightening of visa rules or google hit on her name and "Muslim" ?

B1/B2 can be used to attend conferences as an attendee. Wrong visa for her purpose

Would anyone believe her when she says she was deported when she actually was given the opportunity to withdraw her visa application - the usual offer when wrong visa unintentionally applied for

... and probably nothing compared to no seatbelt or airbags.

Very conscious of the lack of airbags in the MG now, but I refuse to be a Nervous Nelly - post accident.
Anyway, I was always supposed to die in a helicopter crash or shark attack. I've walked away from motorcycle accidents and still rode for another 20 years, until my family cracked a sh.t.

Nope. That post was about people abusing promotions.

P.S. I still have a few tricks up my sleeve but don't bother bragging about them. I've told some people who may be interested in person.

Here is an important report:
Passenger Cars and Occupant Injury - Accident Research Centre

17% of hospitalised crash victims did not wear seat belts compared to a 6% non seat beat wearing rate in the general population.

No seat belt = higher chance of injury requiring hospitalisation (comment on benefit of SB)
BUT ALSO
Drivers who don’t wear seat belts tend to be involved in high speed accidents causing hospitalisation. ( comment on the drivers conduct)

Small cars are not as safe.

Safest place in a car apparently in back seat - but I’m not sure if this is actually true because the study would need to examine only the cohort with back seat passenger as many crashes only have one occupant - the driver

I was surprised that every specialist and police officer who attended me in emergency asked if I had been wearing a seatbelt. However, in hindsight I don't think I've ever had a reliable (or any) seatbelt in Asia or Africa.

I was allowed to have look at my car after the police accident forensics team had finished with it. I was shocked at how much twisting and damage there was to the back seat of the car. However, I'm confident that if there had been passengers in the back seat they would have survived.

I’m not so sure a front seat passenger would have walked away unscathed. From all reports I was very lucky to have survived.

...and off topic, all because some silly woman was more interested in her mobile phone than watching the road..

Anyway, I wouldn't be putting anyone's life at risk (especially a child’s) to save a few dollars on a hire car.

I haven't thought of this trick before.

Touch on with Gocard, walk though barriers on way to train, turnaround and look shocked then touch off with GoCard and continue walking towards train.

What excuse would you use when you get caught? Not sure how I managed to touch on and off at once?

Trick, or theft?

Well my goodness, goodness me, it's almost raining in our neck of the woods in Fadden! Hope it continues and turns into real rain.

Looking at the bom radar, we are right on the edge, those north of us may see something significant. Hope so!
We got some rain in downtown Barton! A couple of good lightning bolts as well. Seems to have passed over now though.

Trick, or theft?
Depends from whose point of view you look at the situation.

This young lady still went ahead and touched off even though I was right there and she probably doesn't care if she's caught as the fines are not that high anyway.

Has anyone tried this for snoring ?? I see it advertised everyday online !! Looks like it WOULD work but ....
