I do read fast and I was flicking over the gumpf and reading the real bits and that was only about 50 pages - Most of the rest was add ons and making claims so I skimmed that.

Edit - I am also very used to technical documents - 30 years of reading public service RFTs and contracts does that :)
The gumpf sections are where the "gotchas" are. Miss them & the tears start

Mmm. Guess I better lock up the silver when you visit

Made an AirBnB booking and the host responds about an hour later saying Im cancelling the booking as Im selling

Uggh. Then why have the dates open? And he hasnt cancelled the reservation so I had to send a request for him to cancel.

That was my first experience with AirBnB. Booked and paid through PayPal. Then a few hours later was contacted and said those dates shouldn’t have been bookable. Took a while to get money back too.

Yikes. I thought you had to pay via airbnb?
You do. They wanted PayPal - maybe peculiar for this one? I dunno. It was my first time. Probably could have used credit card but same refund issue really.

So that means you know what phrases or sections to hone in on. :)

Perhaps that's why I tend to avoid AirBnB - have heard quite a few stories of people booking/paying and then being told no longer available and having to wait for a refund. A bit sus to me.

I used AirBnB for the first time at Rotorua for a 4 bed home, no problems.
Now looking for a 3 bed condo at Waikiki, I would book thru Qantas, but I can't find anything with more than 2 bedrooms.

Don’t like AirBnB. Something goes wrong your stuffed.

That is like watching our pool over the last few weeks. We have a gum tree next door that should never have been planted in the burbs. Planted 70 years after our house was built. On the boundary. Arborist said it should go. Drops limbs, bark, leaves, nuts and general cr*p from November until May over our yard not the neighbors. Typical. This year we heard so many birds. The tree is doing it’s major blossom boom. Our pool filter cannot cope with that yellow pollen. I have to clean it twice a day. It completely fills it and clogs it. I have to scrape it out. We are selling our house next year. Can you believe that the timing of our sale is very much dependent on what stage this bloody tree is at!

Glad my parents removed the trees from our small residential block over 40 years ago. Couldn't do it easily today.

Oh. The neighbors could remove the tree if they had the will. It is not protected by council legislation. Quite the opposite. It was THIER arborist who said it should never have been planted. They just refuse to remove it. They are greenies.
