We will be in Los Angeles when the Mantra Hotel group falls into the hands of Accor next week. I am always a bit sad when international businesses take over Australian businesses. Accor seems to be paying a fair price.

Probably only of interest to cruisers but I didn’t realise that Fincantieri ship building is located just near Venice. Most cruise liners are built there. I wonder which one this is being built?

Could be Silverseas ! All their ships get built there as the family who own Silverseas are Italian - hence the regular floaters are called venetians ;)

I loved Groundhog Day and to my surprise that one closed fairly quickly. Sometimes people love shows that I thought were pretty ordinary so it gets down to personal taste.
Hamilton was quite different from what I expected and I won’t spoil it by saying more.
I am a fan of Minchin who developed Matilda and Groundhog Day.
We have an interest in the Mercure Sydney International and one being built opposite the Green Square staton. I used to stay at the Mercure when it was a Hilton and it is being refurbed this year.
Still I will miss Mantra going to European owners.

According to the trash bible (AKA the Daily Mail ) Pippa is pregnant and not invited to the wedding !!!
Did we or anyone have a need to know that? Who cars about the main family let alone the subsidiary British hangers on.

And while we are here, why don’t they pay for their own wedding instead of hitting the (British) taxpayers for over 50 million pounds?

I don’t see why she would have been invited.

My husband's friend became a first time dad at 50. She graduated high school last year, shocked the hell out of me that 1, 18yrs has gone so freakin fast and 2, hes almost 70! When did that happen?

One of my ex girlfriends became a first time mum at 52.

When we were together for about 6 years in the early eighties, she was adamant about not wanting to have any children, how things change. :)

Well shes 'my sister in laws sister' to Harry so no reason for an invite unless they are friends.

One of my factory employees at work is going. His brother was invited, ex military, dont know how you get on the list but sounds like a lot of $$$$ for suit, hat ect and you don't get a proper sit down feed.

Just to be clear I’m no republican - just think that any televised wedding is too much. They fit into the reality tv show genre which is just hideous

I’m no republican because I’ll never vote for any politician to be an executive head of state - their heads will be too inflated

....

Oh dear do they not know that the imagery is a touch unfortunate?. Venice is underwater regularly and is actually sinking...o_O

Excerpt From the Sun:

Who’s paying for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding?
Tradition states that the father of the bride pays for a wedding, so we’re sure Meghan’s family breathed a sigh of relief when Kensington Palace confirmed the royal family would foot the bill.

The Windsor clan will be paying for the church service, flowers, decorations and reception – but they’re not covering everything.

Meghan is expected to pay for her own dress, while taxpayers will cover security. Ouch!

But, before you get too upset, the royal wedding is expected to provide a £500m boost to Britain’s economy – thanks to tourism and merchandise.

She might be but I’ll bet she (as an American celebrity/actress) is used to getting stuff for free. Who knows some dressmaker might make it for free knowing that the publicity is worth more.
Louboutin shoes were the exception. A lot of movies asked Lou to provide his shoes for free as a product placement in the movies but he has always refused.

I’m not well enough informed to make any assessment on who pays what for whom.

Hubby with his men chasing waterfalls photography group today, 5am drive to the Blue Mountains. Testing out the new merino long sleeve undershirts I got on sale for him. $159 marked down to $45 (last seasons). Its only May and we're already cold.
