Off to Brisbane tomorrow - Yay - it’s been 5 months since I was on a plane, so suffering withdrawal symptoms :). Meeting up wit Dr FM for a few days of warmth and R&R. Booked at Urbane for Saturday night - anyone tried it?

Warm if you're coming from Canberra. Not warm for us poor folk who cannot handle the cold.

well I can’t handle the cold and it was 8 degrees at 11am this morning when we took the dogs for a walk. :). So I am really looking forward to a break from winter! Apart from taking the dogs for a walk I generally hibernate inside until September.

Well, that's a downer. Came home this afternoon and opened the front door to a flood. The hose leading from the wall tap to the reservoir of a stand alone toilet I have near the front door had burst and full force of water had been gushing out for an unknown amount of time. Luckily mostly tile floor in surrounding area, but some rugs and part of carpet soaked and maybe damage where the water has soaked between walls and floor. Insurance claim under way.

But that's got me a bit paranoid now. If this had happened anytime between 6 and 1 week ago, I was away, and it would have been gushing for up to a week before being discovered. I turn the dishwasher off at the tap before I go away these days, but now it seems like I'll be turning all the toilet taps off as well! Guess I'll also get all the toilet hoses replaced when the burst one is fixed as well. :(

The only non metal hose inside our house is in the laundry. So whenever we go away, I turn off the taps and then release the pressure in the hose by loosening the hose a bit and let some water out into a towel.

When we used to have electric Hot water storage, I would release the pressure relief valve every month or so to make sure it does not get stuck.

You do much better than me. I'm currently walking outside and it's supposed to be 17°C and I'm freezing.

The ducted aircon has 2 zones.

Can’t work out why tonight one zone is 20c and another zone is 25c

And as usual the complaint from the 20c room is too cold and 25c room is too hot.
I suggested the too cold person swop with the top hot person.o_O

That’s an insurance claim. No overflow drain? What a bummer. Our ceiling is being replaced while we are away. It was 0 degrees here in St Moritz. Refreshing.

Love Urbane. But I believe it has recently changed chefs?

Yikes. Watch out for mold.

We had a surprise when we came home once, opened bills and water and electricity bill through the roof. Found broken hot water system so basically 24/7 filling and heating.
