I know where you're referring but I have gotten sea sick a couple of times yet another time I survived sea state 5. Plus I already look good in green.

Maybe you could join the crew of Sea Patrol, they just cruise around the Isles in the Whit's off Townsville, and I'm sure Ian and Lisa would welcome you aboard..........

Cheers Dee

They don't show the unglamorous side where you have to take doxy then primaquine in the tropics. Doxy is fine but primaquine :shock::shock:

Some of the lot owners in Royal Pines have nothing better to do than complain and try control everyone else's lives. I think they retired too early from whatever businesses they had. Anyway, lately they’ve taken to dropping propaganda in mailboxes and very recently, set up a website.

Now I couldn’t care about what they’re complaining about, however I really wanted to share the monstrosity that is the website they only recently created. It’s absolutely hideous, at least to me in both Safari and Firefox.

So just thought I’d share.
I live in a development (13 years old now) that still has a functional residents association. the RP website reminds me a lot of our residents association, whose sole purpose in life seems to be to send around newsletters to remind me that I haven't mowed the lawn for 3 weeks and don't I know that there is a caveat on my land that says I have to maintain it in a tidy state or the government will take it off me.
Of course, if it isn't the lawn it is the fact that someone has dared to park a car on the road outside someone else's house.

Oh yes, there was a big fuss over that one as apparently in a gated community, right outside everyones house is a common land thoroughfare and cars cannot be parked over it, despite the fact no public traffic can drive on the road, only people that live there, so where’s the danger from walking out a few steps…

I park my car in visitor parking as we only have a 2 car garage and 3 cars, and there’s so many problems with that, despite the fact there are rarely visitors parking there… :p

Body corporates are just… what a waste!

Nothing wrong with having a permanent visitor ;)

In my case it is a public road with little parking bays outside most houses. Apparently those public parking bays on that public road actually belong to the house. ???

Your right these people need to go back to work

That's not a website, it's an unholy abomination that should be burned at the stake! I thought we'd past this stage in web design, but then I remember that some people still use frontpage.

Everything bar the contacts page is in PDF's, and they only contain text content. And the contact page has the text in a red colour which will be barely readable to anyone over the age of 50 or with a colour contrast issue...

And good lord, just the newsletter alone is a triumph in mediocrity and an abuse of the English language. Seriously - they want people to read that tripe? The first page alone is a good enough replacement for counting sheep at bedtime.

Some people need better things to do with their time. I suspect the people behind it need to take up knitting and canasta and leave the rest of the world to get on with their lives.

I don't know I like this bit of the newsletter:

RP residents newsletter said:
At the AGM held on 23rd March 2010 Mr Craig Treasure retired as Chairman of the PBC Executive Committee. He served as Chairman for 3 years and during that time he donated hundreds of hours of his time to the role of Chairman.

And that was just chasing Samh004 about parking in the vistors spot.

RP newsletter said:
Many positive things were achieved during those 3 years and the dedication, time and expertise provided by Mr Treasure is appreciated by all.

But he still hasn't got that car out of the vistors spot and we're overthrowing him because of that.

There you go Sam, you've outlasted a chair of the resident's association. ;)

Haha that’s what I thought they must have used too.

Luckily they also provide a hard copy in everyones mailboxes still.

You don’t know the half of it :p

Welcome to the RPR hell :)

Where was the bit about no penguins allowed?
My dear old MIL lives in an over 50s village(she is 92).Their strata committee wins prizes. Not so affectionately known as "The Stalag" and the expresident as the "Kommandant".
Try and tell you which sort of pet-ie a cat but not a dog.Came to a head when a Chi hua hua was not allowed being a dog.
Also they brought in a rule that if a tenant had 2 written complaints the landlord had to evict them. Then my MIL got 2 complaints that her TV was too loud(well she is deaf!My bush lawyer instincts rose to the surface and they soon backed off.
Yes Management Committees are full of Wannabee pollies and misfits(well maybe the 2 are the same).

So just many pages can you view before being told to either log in or join up? I hit the limit yesterday after leaving the computer logged on for a couple of days.

I assume you mean logged off? It's not a terribly high amount... It's good for admin because it forces users to sign up (well.. they can just clear their cookies) which gives a more accurate picture of just who is using the site.

Met a lovely 87 year old today.Ex AN.Flew his glider until last year. Some folks are amazing.

Who is the selfish person?

- The person who wants some peace and quiet in the office to be able to concentrate on work?

or

- The person who listens to music on full blast with the noise screeching through their headphones?

Does anyone still get a paper statement from QFF even though they've opted in for online statements only?

I got one yesterday with my activity detail for June (and only June). No idea why; I didn't ask for it and I switched to online statements a long time ago.

Sounds like they need better headphones, but I guess that’s the problem with open-plan offices, especially if it takes all sorts to do the job.

Yeah I've had paper statements sent to me, even though I'm online only... weird hey!

Wonder if they are having general system issues - lots of people with July activity but summary showing June as last activity.

Now random paper statements (FWIW mrsdoc got one of these some months ago, one-off).
