I did have a thought that perhaps not all attendees are finalised and so the group booking is not as yet "closed-off" so to describe. So perhaps it will happen once all bookings for the group are finalised?
No, you'll find all the group Passenger's seats will basically be pre-allocated together.

You can try calling Qantas - as a PS they may do it for you.

Other than that, you may have to wait until check-in at the airport. (OLCI is not likely to be available.)

FWIW, seat selections for most bookings can be done as soon as the PNR exists; this can be well before ticketing.

Absolutely no idea - mix of docs travelling from all around Aus/NZ. My best guess is ~ a dozen to twenty from BNE (or possibly only one or two!)?

Does that make a difference?

I believe it does. I couldn't tell you about the select a seat issue as my last group booking was on Qlink, but IIRC if your booking is for more than 9, you can not check in online.

Perhaps a call to QF can clarify this better than what I can

Reminds me when granddaughter went on a school excursion to Europe on Emirates.put in her velocity number and up came the whole group-could reassign seats, select meals-Boy it was tempting. Was able to put her and best friend into an exit row though.:)
But I guess you really shouldn't be able to do that.

I'm pretty sure this has been on Channel 7 before but if anyone is interested 'The Rise & Fall of Concorde' is on tonight at 8:30 or 9:30 depending on where you are.

From the moment that it hit the skies in 1969, until a catastrophic accident just outside Paris on July 25th 2000, the supersonic Concorde was an icon. Witness the rise and fall of Concorde through the people who knew the aircraft best. How did a design dream turn into an engineering nightmare?

I think I've seen it before but I don't remember it anyway so I'll be watching it again:lol:

Silly question to the Docs (or nutritionists or anyone that can answer it) of the forum.

I purchase 500g of beef regular mince and then put it into a heated frying pan (no oil) and it starts cooking releasing water, blood and juices. Occasionally I add some water until it is cooked. I then refrigerate to use in a few days.

When I take cooked mince out of the fridge it now weighs 280g. So when it comes to nutritional information (calories, protein, fat, carbohydrate etc) am I eating 500g of mince or 280g of mince?

And yes this is important as I am trying a high protein diet (obviously low carb at the same time) and trying to keep the fat consumed at ~60g/day. At the moment I am consuming ~100g/day but most of it comes from extra virgin olive oil.

So far the results are not great but I have lost 2-3kgs and over 5cms around the waist.

From a nutritional point of view I believe you would be eating the same as 500g of mince beef, as the only difference is H20 which in this context has not nutritional value. Mind you I suspect it pretty hard to get average nutritional readings for mince, the fat content would very considerably.

Quick question. Did it rain in Darwin last night or this morning? Or in the last 24 hours where QF544/QF824 fly? Some of our mail has water damage and I know my bosses will want me to work out where it happened.

I just looked up the flights. Mail goes Sydney - Brisbane - Darwin - Here.

I've basically cut out coke and beer during the week, and I'm economising so I'm only eating what I purchase from a supermarket or bring from home while in Sydney. So basically I always feel a bit hungry while away from home and I've lost 5 kg in the last little while.

I actually put the 5 kg back on during the family event 2 weekends ago but it has all gone again this week. It's a hard road.

Does the nutritional information you have for mince include that it is 50% water?

QF really need to replace the tape players on their 763s - the one I had on Friday BNE-SYD was appalling (virtually unwatchable and un-listenable due to the crackes / picture blurring). The FA paused it and restarted and it was about 1% better.

Other than that, I like the 763s.
