The totally off-topic thread

Ross, aka MetroAir, is quite OK.

He has been in touch with me and informs that he left of his own accord. He regrets that he did not make a final post to say goodbye.

He would like to thank everyone for their advice and wishes everyone all the best for the future.

MetroAir, your posts were enjoyable and it was good to have you around. Too much seriousness can render a site boring. You will be sadly missed. I hope that we can keep in touch and take care of yourself.

If the people that showed interest in his absence wish to have more information then I am more than happy to provide it to you via email.

...which begs the question... how many legs did it have to begin with? :p
How many there are, they were begat with inherent instability!

This thread has reached critical mass and is about to implode....

Interesting to go back to Lindsay's OP:

I thought perhaps we should start this thread, given the discussion over in My Questions about how we have taken the thread about Forum Software totally off topic.

So here in this thread, you can discuss anything that off-topic (as that's the name of the thread, thus whatever is discussed must actually be on-topic). How about that, never being able to go off-topic and haranged by a Moderator  .

So, it doesn't matter whether you want to talk about avatars, my locked 10K post thread, HP's, buses, whatever...it's all for the posting.

Begin my fellow AFF'ers..it will be interesting to see how this thread grows and evolves...it may be more like a chat room. Can we break the thread page counts and post count???
Looks like the post count record has certainly come and gone.

I want to buy 3 Jetstar tickets. If I do it as three separate credit card transactions (instead of one), will Jetstar pay more in merchant fees? I still only pay $2 x 3 in either case.

Hey Kyle, that's actually a serious question - don't quite know what it's doing in this thread  (as per the thread name), however I'm sure somebody will answer it...sorry, I don't know the answer :(

Yes, I am still alive everybody (just not able to get onto AFF much these days)...

How're ya doing?

I thought it's off-topic since it's not about earning points and it's possibly to the detriment of Jetstar

No - merchant fees are charged on value, not the number of transactions.

Shhhhh! I was hoping no-one would notice! ;)

Aha... 900 posts in this thread now. Time for a guessing competition on when it gets to 1,000? I think thadocta should start this one. :D

While we're onto that, why don't we start a thread for when I reach 100 posts?
Opps. too late.

Mal.
