First-Halloween.Not an australian tradition.Meant to mark the beginning of autumn. We put up the barricades.Literally.If kids need a good family night then sack the PC police and bring back Empire Day-the old neighbourhood bonfire and fireworks were great.and only cost the area a few destroyed letter boxes.

We could always do what they do in the UK and celebrate Guy Fawkes night ;)

Second-Krispy Kreme-thank goodness,I need to lose weight.Need to put on the old dinner jacket in May and just found out it has shrunk in the wardrobe.

I know the feeling...

Fourth-Love the dress code on TT.Half were wearing thongs, the other half jandals.

Jandals???? Seriously we needed a further alternative to flip flops/thongs (and i will never call them thongs)

That’s coming up… remember remember the 5th of November…

I’m just waiting for another call to ban sparklers because stupid kids don’t understand what sparkler bombs are…

Indeed, am looking forward to it. Any suggestions on where to go? I have found a few boroughs around central London that will be putting on fireworks....

And hey, don't knock the thongs guys ; I've been wearing them all trip (apart from when I've been at work!) and that includes the 8 degree maximum temp days we've had here :p

Why watch another set of fireworks? Go to one of the events that are special to the UK and Guy Fawke's night. (Ottery St Mary - Tar Barrel burning, or watch what happens in Lewes as various clans march through the streets carrying burning torches.)

I was in Lewes last year and enjoyed it. The only issue is getting back to London afterwards, but trains do run fairly late.

Well, that's what I was thinking about. You'd be surprised at how little information I was able to find though when looking on various websites.

Get to the country, find a bunch of people and make a bon fire in the middle of a field. I remember doing that in my youth, great fun :)

Well, it's been a good run. My days of holidaying around and being a general overseas bum are numbered ; it looks like now I'm limited to weekend trips at least for the present moment

Fifth-Where are the TV cameras wehen you want them. One of the funniest things i have seen boarding happened on the TT MEL flight. Two older ladies approached and asked-"is this the Melbourne flight?"GA-"Yes"
OL's-"thanks" GA-"this is not your plane"
OL's-"but we have to get to Melbourne today"GA-"this is not your plane"
OLs-"we have seen your TV show but we have checked in and have boarding passes."GA-"Yes but this is tiger Airways and your boarding passes are for Virgin blue."

I know I've already commented on this but I told Mum the story and she dared me to do it next time I have some spare time at an airport.

Post the time on AFF first and you should get a good audience.

Well, a little pleased with myself with a couple of bets on the nags. Dropped my usual $25 on bets at the local TAB here in Perth, mainly on mystery bets but always with a place on the race favourite.

Just waiting for their dammed site to load to work out how much I won.
