Ok, here's a challenge.. the cheapest fare to PER out of LON that will earn miles/SC on either BMI's program (*A) or QFF (OW). Could do something like leave LON on a Thursday, leave PER on a Monday. Looking at any time in January. QF seems to price out around 1100 pounds return.

Class of travel will be whY (torture or what! :))

Brisbane.... stinking hot one day.... pissing down rain and cold the next....

Seriously what is wrong with the weather around the world. I was struggling to breathe yesterday it was so hot and now it is cold. This is supposed to be summer.

Very inconsistent weather....

I am not sure everyone would say 21 degrees is cold, nor would I say 27 degrees is hot which is what the temp was yesterday, thats a 6 degree variance, now if you were in Perth where it was 32 yesterday and only 19 the day before you may have a point ;).

Well at least we know it's not global warming.

Yesterday felt a lot hotter than 27 degrees and today feels a lot colder than 20.8 degrees. What gives?

Singapore Airlines comes in at about GBP 901.10 for this itin:

SQ225
Economy Class (A330-300)

I didn't include the dates I searched for as it looks like you can be flexible around Jan and its still about the same price, SQ do earn on BMI don't they?

You're right - it is a challenge.

For reference I used ITA and variable date pick starting with 01/01/2011 and staying for 2 nights.

Just for the *A side of things (the more challenging one IMO), for LON/PER, the cheapest ITA is returning to me appears to be on TG. Fares going at about GBP 1180 or a bit more. The problem with this is that I can only find a fare which gives full points on the outbound (Q) but no points on the inbound (V).

Now on the other hand I have tried LON/SIN for the same period (may need to adjust the "nights" variable), and the fares are considerably cheaper. TK offers return fares from GBP 571. The problem is that the TK fares book into W, which earns only 0.25xBIS in BD. Other options at around GBP 600 - 700 include BD and members of the LH group (LH, LX and OS) in various combinations. These book into classes which give 0.5xBIS. Some of those options allow you to start in LCY rather than LHR.

It's actually pretty hard to find a combination which gives 1.0xBIS for the entire journey unless you want to bend over.

Could it be humidity?
Perhaps.

I was actually a little cold on Sunday hence the track suit type top. It has been hot the last couple of days and now it is cool again. Normally the heat does not affect me but I can feel the cooler weather.

Oh well....

I'd say humidity for sure. Same reason that I'm almost fainting from heat in Sydney (after arriving from ADL) and everyone on the train is wrapped up in great coats. :o

That was the fare I had found also, but given it was 3am in the morning I decided I could not be bothered to check the fare class and was going to look again when I got to work, so thanks for looking it up!

So... if I can confirm it books into W then I may as well book. I have some clients to do a bit of work for on the short trip back too, so will multi-purpose the trip and should be somewhat of a business expense also.

Thanks jdevereux3 and anat0l.

Nothing wrong with eco-no-money class.

Indeed! Will be nice to try out my *A Gold too. Proof that status matching pays, previously I would have just jumped straight on BA/QF but thanks to BMI I am now going to try out *A for my travel. At least flying around Europe I have better options on *A as opposed to OW.

I realise 'tis the season to be jolly but some take their celebrations a little too far. Early AM flight to PER & a pax is MIA but is eventually found asleep on the smokers balcony in the terminal. As a/c is on a stand-off bay by the time he gets onboard it's 6 mins past the ETD of flight.

Door of aircraft just about to close when a different pax throws up on himself & bloke next to him. F/A's want him offloaded & PIC naturally supports decision.

Goes without saying that he had a bag & which of course was right down the back of the locker of the 717 so about a trolley & a half of bags to ASP loaded behind the PER bags had to be pulled off first before his bag could be taken off. Further 20 min delay.

Pax spoken to by ADM and confessed "I ****** up". Reply "yes you did". Pax not allowed to travel for at least 24 hours & told if he turns up again in same condition he won't be travelling. :p

What dates can you get that combo? I've only been able to get it to price around £985 for that combo on the dates I'm looking at. The flights it offers for £900 include a long stopover in SIN on the way over to Perth.
