One of my colleagues hurried round the office today saying Qantas had a 'mid-air in flight emergency in the air'.

I replied 'mid-air in the air?'

She was 'yes!' Then hurried off to tell the others. Bit of a double use of air I thought but she didn't get it.
That's alright karens apparently one journalist referred to it as a "decompressurization":!:

Some people may comment that it suits her well as a vanity plate ;)

Not for much longer according to no news up these parts. K-Rudd has emerged from the floods as a hero ;p

The GG's car just has a crown on the number plate & would by flying the Vice-Regal Standard flag on the bonnet.

Drove past me today. 2 police motorbikes leading, 2 police motorbikes following - all with their lights on.

The motorbikes had the flag on them too..

Now that's sounds like a case of triple tautology. Was NoNews on her list of people to call? :p

This colleague used to be a flight attendant. I wonder what she would have been like in this situation

Reminds me of a colleague who was travelling on a B737 (not QF) & seated towards the back of the plane.

The F/A's were in a bit of a tizz because there was a high pitched noise coming from the back of the plane & were heard saying amongst themselves "I don't know either".

The noise was a smoke alarm going off in the WC mid-flight.

I just received a belated Christmas present from my sister-it's a Coopers home brew kit, anyone had success with these?
Cheers
N'oz

I have one as well. As mentioned hygiene is the key. Also keeping the seal above the brew. I have experimented with not checking the SG, well I did on the first batch. But the next few I didn't bother just letting it ferment for enough time. I also bulk prime before bottling so don't use the carbonation drops, mainly because I use 500ml glass bottles.

The hardest thing is also cleaning all the bottles, very time consuming. But worth it for the pleasure of drink your own work. Enjoy.

Test post from my new smartphone - not iPHone:oops:

So it is a "smart" phone" , not a "dumb" iPhone then? ;)

Test worked.

You won't be one of the cool people without an Iphone. :p
I think I'm the dumb one...only took 1/2 hour to figure out how to open the phone to insert the SIM card and battery. Now to work out how to ensure WiFi is used before 3G:oops: BTW it is a Samsung Galaxy S if anyone can tell me the answer to the last Q. ATM, using the phone without the SIM card til I figure this out!!!

No need to work it out, because WiFi before 3G/HSDPA is the default setting for Android, so long as there is a known WiFi network in range the handset will use that.

At the risk of making a topic of this my Nokia N97 mini remains switched off.

I will continue to use my Motorola V9XX. Someone was able to find one in Thailand for !AUD150. I will look for one next trip when I have some time.

PM to outline flood recovery plan

Is this a joke? Buy back all the homes on flood plains? I don't want to sound like I am not a compassionate person but I did not build a home on a flood plain.

Glad to see some people in the article are making some sense.

Without seeming mean, if they want them all bought back then they should get what they're worth now, otherwise the choice to build there was theirs.
