Ok, am I the only one getting ads on the forum encouraging me to become a sperm donor for IVF Australia???

I find this most disturbing, not least because I'm female! :p:mrgreen:

I few years ago I must have got your ad, it offered to make me tighter.

I’m not sure how ads are targeted seeing as we’re talking about a nuclear reactor :p

Either way, does IVF Australia pay for the sperm, or is that only in American movies?

I didn't click on the ad, next time it appears I will and find out if you get paid ;) I think in the US 'donations' from medical students or junior doctors are highly prized and you can make some decent cash from it. Well, decent for a student or junior doctor anyway - I found out recently that the US junior doctors make a third of my base pay as junior dr and they don't get overtime  And in their nutty system they start the day at 4.30 or 5 seeing the patients before the boss arrives. Which led me to 2 points:
1) why don't more patients shoot their doctor? I would if some moron woke me at 4.30am to ask if I'd passed gas etc and then woke me an hour later to do the same thing!
2) How on earth do those Grey's Anatomy doctors find all that energy to sleep with each other and the money to dress that well?

Found sperm donation being promoted in a *A thread  For those interested, I clicked the ad:
In Australia donating sperm is an altruistic gift so no payment can occur for the donation, however expenses can be reimbursed,” Dr Hale said.
Expenses probably doesn't include J class across the continent, one presumes ;)

Currently I am transfer pictures and other files from one computer to another, its a long process if you want to do it properly.

Sony have all their files starting with DSC and I think I had 2 different Sony and Canon cameras so lots of double file names, and I am planning to buy another one.

Canon have all their files starting with IMG_

I haven't found the camera setting that lets me change the file name to something I could use. Something like year 2011_00001, would be really handy, that way each year I could start with a new number.

Or the shiny new Ipad to help fill in the time on the flight :)

Biggest issue with donors in Australia is the identification requirements. Scares too many blokes away. Many, many years ago, sometimes blokes used to drive up to a dropbox and drop off their sample and pick up some cash. Then of course there were the doctors who were "helping their business" along and all sorts of strange behaviour. Led to the big crack-down and regulation (even down to the number of biological children etc)

I extract my pictures using Photoshop which will put them into a folder for the date the picture was taken. Also then have a folder structure based on camera, year and date taken.

A lot of cameras have that setting hidden away in Options (usually under an Advanced screen, or picture file format type screen). What's the model?

Double bugger!

I don’t appear to be able to change that on my Canon.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before elsewhere, but I did just get a chuckle out of using BPay to pay for my QF PER-HKG-PER (and thereby avoiding the ridiculous $30 credit card fee for an instantaneous electronic process.)

Qantas' Bpay 'Biller Code' - 747600

Ok, little things, little minds ;)

Every reason to chuckle. If you can do it and still double dip on points, then go for it.

Can you do BPAYs using credit cards? Or can they only be done out of regular bank accounts (i.e. standard savings accounts)?
I use BPay all the time from my Visa card. And I earn points for the BPay payments made using my credit card. However, some BPay billers do not accept credit card payments, so if you choose to BPay those billers from a credit card the transaction will be treated as a cash advance from your credit card.

Billers who do not accept credit card BPay payments include banks and other credit card providers like Amex and Diners Club. This prevents you for paying one credit card bill with another credit card via BPay.

I wasn't double-dipping on points - couldn't see the worth in it for a cheap flight booking given the $30 fee - if it was a Europe return or J I'd be paying the credit card fine to get the points but a sale fare to Asia wasn't worth it.
Qantas doesn't accept credit card BPAY according to this section of the website.

I'm not thrilled with the BPAY process to be honest - despite paying 22 hours ago, my booking still hasn't come through as confirmed and still says "you have until midnight to pay by BPAY". I even rang QF who were helpful but weren't sure if it had come through or not. The most they could say was "give it another 24 hours to come through" - a tad unhelpful since its a sale fare for a sale ending at midnight tonight. I have my BPAY receipt carefully saved in case of problems... I think its worth the $30 fee for the convenience of instant confirmation and the lack of hassles! Maybe they do it like that on purpose to force us all to pay by card?

Your BPAY reference should be enough ammunition if problems arise.

BPAY are a weird thing. It all depends on the bank and the seller, and the timing (fortunate or unfortunate) between the two and you. I seriously sometimes had to kick BPAY in the backside and continuous calls and in a couple of cases reversals of overdue fees were required.
