Squire golden sugary sweet P1ss!

Boags is fine; Becks if no boags...

What other options?

I quite like the Lounge Fat Yak

It’s a Golden Ale in BNE :)
I had whatever they had in the lounge. So Golden ale it was then. Still awful.

I think the choices in the beer fridge starting from the top were James Squire Golden Ale in a can, some other brand in a can, Heineken bottle, Becks bottle, James Boags bottle, Tooheys Extra Dry bottle, Hahn Light can and maybe some other brand as well. Awful all of them.

No Pure Blonde, Crown Lager, Carlton Draught, Tooheys New....

Now John, bagging Boags is crossing the line.Funny though it is available in the larger centres but not in the QPs of DPO and LST.Only stock that Southern Tassie stuff-sacrilege!:p:p:p

Sitting in the QP watching some serious black clouds roll in and thunder in the distance.
Cheers

Also, on another note, saw a 4-engined jet fly over me as I approached the Gateway at 12:43 today, looked online and see it was a China Airlines A343 on it’s way to AKL… I wasn’t aware they operated that route?

One of the Chinese airlines has been advertising on the back of buses that they fly to AKL. The ad has a person in traditional Maori attire rubbing noses with a lady in a traditional Chinese dress. It's a really nice photo.

Sitting in a reasonably busy Perth QP feeling very glad I am only bringing carryon since it looked like none of the self-check bag drops were working... Also NGCI printed me a boarding pass instead of Q card. May have been operator error however ;)

I had some Golden Ales at home tonight, but will have a couple of whatever is on offer tomorrow afternoon at the BNE QP.

Ah, nice to be back flying after a couple of weeks off.

That's how I felt last weekend after my first flight in 3 months

I've not flown for 4 weeks! missing it badly! but will be on the road in less than 2 weeks!

Also my default font in the reply window has changed to Times! I hate it!:evil: Anyone know how to change it to something else?

Hm, mine has done the same. Shows in the editor as TNR but then still posts in the correct font.

I'm four months cold turkey, and I don't know if I can handle it -starting to get withdrawal symptoms. And there's no AA (aviators anonymous) meeting near me any time soon.

Then again, didn't help that three of my last five flights were up the pointy end. Just have to wait for Ozfest for my next trip.

I'm making up for it now, in the next 3 weeks have Holland, Norway and Australia.

Personally I'd rather drink out of a toilet bowl before drinking any one of those.

Mind you, Becks and Heineken are brewed under license in Australia, so it's no better than the other junk. Then again, someone says Heineken tastes the same no matter where you drink it, even from the original in Amsterdam! Seems like it's a no-win beer (along with other global no-winners, like Fosters or Budweiser).

It'd be nice if the line up had Coopers in it.

Nothing wrong with a premium Tassie Tiger.

Watching 7.00p.m. show on 10 last night, they were talking about ATC who fell asleep whilst on late night shift, one comedian suggested that all Control Towers should fit Y seats for the controllers, as they could never sleep in them. Think JQ or TT.

Cheers Dee

There was an outage of the baggage system in PER yesterday.

I guess your last flight was QF78 SIN-PER, so I can feel you are a getting withdrawal symptoms.

I treat our AFF drinks nights as Aviators Anonymous :p

My next booking is not until Ozfest, but I might put in a quick trip to Melbourne via Sydney of course.

With the change of computer I added some more detail to my BA Calendar, and I have flown JQ35 a few times.

Also with the change of computer, I culled about 1,800 photos. so from 3900 approx down to 2090. I thought about adding some photos to the off topic thread, that I found that I didn't realise I had.

Next I need to cull a a bit of music as some songs I don't like and not ever likely to want to listen to.

Perhaps mods would like to spin off a thread on new beers for the QP.

I think the disparate views on preferred beers is why qf are doing market research - there's a wide variety of tastes.

Personally, if they hold a mix of beer options (various options of low carb, draught, "boutique" etc) then everyone shuld have some degree of preference catered towards. Not necessarily their first choice, but something "acceptable".

No doubt pricing availability will come into it too!
