Hanging out in Tamworth for the weekend in a "2nd on call" arrangement - I'm unlikely to be called for anything, but I have to stay no further than 20 minutes from Tamworth Base Hospital. Now, what to do with 48 hours of nothing?

When I did something similar I started watching the Sopranos/ the Wire etc. It breaks the time into manageable 20 or 50 minute chunks although you go a bit crazy by the end

Didn't know about the Flyertalk meeting thread in BKK although I was in Hua Hin at the time.

Managed 10 games of golf this trip but now heading back to reality....

I may well have resurrected an Urban Myth yesterday at MEL.Boarding my flight to BNE and near the head of one of the lines(no priority boarding signs or announcements)when a fellow trys to push past saying I am gold and have priority.I dont know what came over me but as quick as a flash(and quicker than D1) I replied "well I am life time platinum".Now not exactly a lie but I did forget to add-on AA.
Noticed a few look my way.

I figure if you have to remind someone of your status in an airline, you've probably lost, as they already know.

Currently marinating in L-P champagne at the EY lounge at DUB .. this is probably the best J lounge I've ever been in. Quiet, decent a la carte menu, decent selection of booze, full table/couch service, nice views of the tarmac and wifi that works well. Glad to be on my way back home!

I'm not sure - there's the BD lounge in T1 which is pretty bloody average, the EI lounge in T2 which is surprisingly decent and the EY lounge in T2 which is just fabulous. The discussion you're referring to was several drinks ago, so I can't be sure which one I was talking about .. :-/

As for when you're both in MEL - you could set up a thread or arrange via FB. Either works!
