Another delay means another chance to tell you all where I am now.
Spent 2 nights in Berlin, flew into Berlin(SXF) the East German one, the site for the new Berlin airport which is due to open in June 2012.
Signed up for a walking tour, that didn't happen but found another 1 about 2 hours later which I went on, very interesting, the tours hand out advertising for other events and tours so I found out about a pub crawl, so thought I would go along to that, 4 bars in 4 hours, with about 40/50 people tagging along. A few Australians, English, Americans, Danish and even Germans, that was rather fun, and the funniest part, the chief organizer was an Australian, based in Berlin for the last few years.
Today I had another look at Check point Charlie and just rode around on the S Bahn and U Bahn, then caught the bus to the airport, Berlin Tegel(TXL) which is due to close in June and everything will be transferred to the new airport, same runways as SXF but a complete new building.
So I flew from Berlin to Brussels on an RJ100(basically a newer version of a BAE146) and onto London, and it is in Brussels where I am now, seems like they combined 2 flights into 1, so I ran through Brussels with a 45 minute connection to find my flight was delayed(combined) with the later flight, at least my UK dinner plans never firmed up so all is not lost.
My lufthansa status run gets me access to the Brussels Airlines lounge in Brussels where I wait for the 2 hours eating a few snacks and drink some of the beer.
