Re: Oh Dear!

I hope it was an accident rather than something more sinister. Unfortunately in London you get said events quite often on the tube......

Indeed. Several of my trains over there were delayed due to such incidents, and tube wise I think a couple were as well. The worst time of the year is Dec/Jan/Feb, as people get lonely, the reality of bills from Christmas hit, and the cold is well set in.

The worst delay I experienced was when someone jumped in front of one train, then was thrown off onto the next track and hit by another train. Extremely sad, and I really pity the emergency services (and train drivers) involved.

Meanwhile here I am back at work on my first day post-holiday .. :(

Got to be better weather at least (well, our office currently has no air conditioning whilst they supposedly install a new system. ETA: 2 more weeks; the portable units they've got in just don't cut it unfortunately, it was 29ºC in the office this afternoon).

Definitely so, although still not cold enough for my liking! Currently looking outside the window right at the London Eye. Temp is 12, sky is blue

HSW, 19th floor. Rm 1902.

Will you still be there on 7th Dec?

Half right:)

17th floor. I believe the low numbers face the west...

I'll be here in Melbourne on the 7th, but not in the hotel unfortunately. My bank may want me to be here then, but I am not going to stay that long, no matter how nice the room:(

Well, tonights late tea/midnight snack turned out to be total disaster :-|

Tonight I decided to challenge myself and actually take time to prepare a meal instead of taking it out of the box and throwing it in the oven, so it was decided that an omelette was to be the dish of choice...

Managed to prepare the mix according to the first recipe that appeared on Google and get it into the pan with no troubles...then came the part where you have to flip it over

It all went downhill from there

Looks like I'll be sticking to the microwave party pies from now on

The grill is a lifesaver when it comes to finishing off omelettes, no mess whatsoever

An omlette flipped over ???? No, one half should be flipped onto the other half and thus will seal naturally (unless one has over cooked it already).

It was one of my staples as a single lad, together with steamed veges and salmon steaks

Watched a chef make one onboard the ship & he flipped the omelette over & let it cook for a few seconds on the other side before sprinkling some cheese on it then folding it in half.

Signed up for a walking tour, that didn't happen but found another 1 about 2 hours later which I went on, very interesting, the tours hand out advertising for other events and tours so I found out about a pub crawl, so thought I would go along to that, 4 bars in 4 hours, with about 40/50 people tagging along. A few Australians, English, Americans, Danish and even Germans, that was rather fun, and the funniest part, the chief organizer was an Australian, based in Berlin for the last few years. :).

Pretty sure I know who he is. I believe he taught me my open water diving course. Nice guy.
