I have never been one for coffee. I think I have had 4-5 cups in my life and a few of those were forced down my throat for my own good.

Don't understand what people get out of it and my father cannot understand how I skipped the coffee habit as I have a very addictive personality. ;)

I am a coffee addict...

It is mainly at night when will have 5 plus cups a night and will wake in the morning and have a cuppa as well.

When i get to work I will either make a cup of coffee or go out and buy one.

Simo you are an addict and if you stop a giant tiredness may sweep over you.
I got off my caffeine addiction over 17 years ago and it took anesthesia to set up the opportunity. I had moved from about 6 mugs of coffee to the same number of Diet Cokes.
Make your move soon and your body will feel so much better and thank you for the addiction halt.

I used to have 8 mugs of coffee a day and just stopped overnight. I now have maybe one coffee every couple of months. We have however just used FF points to order a Nespresso machine so I might be back on a short black each morning...

In the early 80's my first IT role was with a company run by a guy of Egyptian Heritage. There was always the best coffee available. 8 to 10 cups a day kept me going.

After 5 years I left and had two issues:

Could no longer drink most instant coffees
I had coffee withdrawal and would have incredible headaches.

This lasted for several month whilst I weaned myself - still have a wake up coffee then a long black mid morning ... but that's it.

It is with regret that I announce I fell off the wagon.

I had a coffee this morning. The smell of the freshly roasted beans being poured into the grinder here finally got to me (and hell the sound of the milk steamer happily making happy juice additive also lured me).

I did, however, have a weak one (yes nlagalle, I can do less than a triple shot café latté!). A single shot in a very large mug.

That's the problem with working for a tech company that has a plumbed-in 3 phase café espresso machine and freshly roasted weekly delivered beans that are from a small supplier that imports and roasts their own beans. You can't give up the good stuff (must as serfty stated, I cannot drink instant or bad coffee anymore which makes my frequent visits to the LOTFAP a difficult chore).

One coffee each Friday morning. I think that's an acceptable compromise!

Hm dad told me to use his points to upgrade my flight MEL-WLG if i felt like it

who ever doesn't feel like flying J over Y?

couldn't since i booked a sale fare, but flight back was booked as a classic Y under Dad's points also.

I told him I could upgrade WLG-MEL-PER for 25000 (ie, switch to U from X) instead. He was fine with that

However he has forgotten that I used his points to begin with

hehehe i'll have a few extra glasses of something just for him ;)

What is it with people and mobile phones. Sitting in the SYD business lounge right now waiting for my flight and this lady behind me at the desktops has not stopped talking for ~10 minutes. She has an extremely annoying voice and cannot stop talking.

I hate phone conversations....

Still on the phone almost 20 minutes later! :(

Why or why does someone want to sit in a lounge away from the noise to make noise themselves. Rude is the nicest thing I can say. Just as well my flight is boarding now....

It's worse in more confined spaces like buses. Just dread wondering what it would be like on aircrafts if Internet and cheaper phone calls are introduced.

Aaah John, you are going to love tonight... It's StereoSonic music festival today. Every hotel in Brisbane is booked out with 18/19/20 yo's who are set to come back at about 9-10pm tonight and then doof doof all night.

I'm sure you will hear something from it.

Look forward to it :)

Ohhhh that's what all my friends won't stop talking about on Facebook.

Yes, it'll be loud.

I swear you should have been born a Pom! ;)

Today was scary enough when wandering around town... Was extremely funny this morning when I'm in a lift and 6 StereoSonic attendees pile in (usual blokes in singlets and shorts, girls in bikinis/denim shorts and tattoos all around.) One of the girls said to me in her E-affected state "Do you want some of my sherbet?" After saying no, I then had: "We're heading off to a music festival". I went "Yep, I know. Stereo". She goes "Ooh, High-5" and we high-5 each other. Then came the "Are you attending?" I said no. She said "Aaw, I really wanted to dance with you".

Yep the joys of it all. I'm not old enough (yet) to be her father ... but it isn't that far away....

<end rant>

Heavens!

When I'm out and about I rarely have a conversation longer than 3-4 minutes and make a point of keeping it quiet. Anything longer than that should be either dealt with in person or when you're at the office/home.

Last time I heard you were on the phone the conversation went longer than 3-4 minutes, yes I know it wasn't in a lounge, but still.

I can just see argument after argument if it ever takes off.

Hopefully the noise is not going to bother me once I am asleep.

And I just saw 4 teenagers in the lift on the way up to my room. Their choice of clothes does not leave much to the imagination and this particular girl I could almost see both her breasts and how far up the g-string went. Tattoos are hideous though.

I swear you should have been born a Pom! ;)
Why? Because a 30+ minute one way conversation a couple of metres away annoyed the hell out of me? ;)
