It's currently hosing down in Brisvegas at the moment with BNE runway/taxi lights b*ggered.

Hope ya'll enjoy the circling for a while.

It hasn't stopped raining here in SIN since I arrived early this morning. I've had to work all day on a presentation so it's been a good day to stay inside the hotel.

I'm glad I escaped while I could ... last week it rained, but only for a few hours each night. Worst case was a 6 hr rain spell starting at 4 pm or so...

Interesting to note on the "Who is Online" section of AFF that the most users ever online was 171 on Jan 25, 2005 at 3:08pm.

I think the most I have ever seen online at once is ~15 users.

Must have been a real special day and probably FT down as well.

Even so, I have always been a little suspicous of that number. But it would have been interesting to see the list of names, all 171 of 'em.

Think the system does not time out people for a while. So a guick visit may be still recorded +1 (or insert random time frame here) hour/s later....

Interesting though. I also would like to know the occasion and list of names!

My suspicion comes from the fact that it is way outside anything I have ever seen myself. Not that I look that often, and hey I could even be on that list.

That number would most certainly include any guests on line, so not all members of AFF.

It does say that "This data is based on users active over the past five minutes" so one would assume that those 171 users were online withing a 5 minute time frame.

Unless there was something wrong with the board software at the time.

I suppose only AFF can answer that question on how they keep these statistics and if they keep any history.

No rain at all the last few times I have been in SIN lately.

Wasnt that around the time the May 05 QFF changes were announced (and AFF had some publicity in newspapers IIRC)? Certainly seems a believable number of viewers (including unregistered) if it was the case.

There was a mini thead on this raised by Kiwi Flyer back in Jauary last year: Why so many guests?.

As far as new member go; this increased dramatically somwhat earlier in the few weeks after the Major QFF program changed were announced in Nov 2004: what's up with all the noobs?.

Apparently it's been raining for three days straight here, although it has finally stopped this morning. Hopefully it will clear up for the FT DO on the weekend.

It cant have been continuously raining as I have been in SIN a bit in that period and no rain at all, nor any sign of recent rain.

Fingers crossed it is dry for the do - I have still to get a replacement umbrella when my last one went awol.

Looks like myself and mrs serfty will be arriving on Thursday to "Afternoon passing showers", albeit in the evening.

Singapore Govt Website: 3 Day Forecast

Looks like some rain is scooting through currently from the NE: Rain Areas Animation (Looks like the radar is located at or near Changi).

"Afternoon passing showers" is the default forecast for Singapore, either that or "afternoon isolated thunderstorms". Its like the horoscope that says this year you will come into some bad news - almost bound to be true, and especially at this time of year which is the rainy season.

So that basically means it may rain at random times; plenty of cloud and blue sky and occasionally a couple of clouds will band together and douse the population; generally in the afternoon. 8)
