Australia is loosing many good people this year.RIP Murray Rose who i had the good fortune to meet in 1960.Made an impression on a 13 year old.

Heading to Sydney for the weekend in 2 weeks, to catch up with a mate. Any recommendations for a fine dining restaurant while I'm there? Went to Cafe Sydney on the forum's recommendation last time, was quite nice. Need somewhere not booked out obviously, which is an issue for Tetsuyas/Quay/Marque.

Sydney is filled with wonderful fine dining restaurants, unfortunately most of them are devilish to get into with less than a few weeks' notice on Friday/Saturday nights. That would rule out places like Aria/Guillaume at Bennelong/Rockpool Bar & Grill in addition to the ones you've mentioned.

The SMH hatted ones I've been to, particularly liked and which are likely to be more accessible include Icebergs at Bondi (only if you can manage an early table), Rockpool (although sometimes I find the combinations a bit too experimental), Bistro Moncur (bookings not taken), est., Flying Fish (divine chips!), Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay, Otto, Manta, Restaurant Arras and Sepia. Your preference for menus and availability are likely to decide where you end up.

Even a poor mathematician can now work out how old (?young) you are now drron!

We often go to Aria for a pre show dinner at 5.30 seeing we are close by but you have to leave by 7.30 as the real dinner crowd start arriving. Next we do the Intercontinental Cafe Opera smorgasbord and third choice is Cafe Sydney. Call ahead to get a table for all three in this area.

Bathers Pavilion - Balmoral Beach, Mosman.....I miss my old local:(

So how old is drron? For all we know drron was talking about the 13 year old that was with him when he met Murray Rose! ;)

My 5 day weekend is almost over, and I got some homework to do tomorrow. :( Oh well, I'll just have to think about my 6 day weekend next weekend. :D

What you don't want your child to say to an immigration official when entering the US ...
Little Miss: "We've even got medicine for me in my bag"
Him: "Are you sick?"
Little Miss about to regale him with goodness knows what kind of story ...
Me: "It's just for headaches and in case something happens, so I don't have to try to find a drug store in the middle of the night" (On the inside: Holy cough, child shut UP!!)

Kids always tell the truth! Aren't they so innocent? :)

That's how my dad finds out "everything" about his brothers and sisters. :o

Afterwards, Mr Katie was like "That's exactly what immigration/customs officials want to hear from kids ...".
Reminder to self: ensure any truly deep secrets are hidden from this little one, because she will tell anyone anything. Even a random couple at dinner tonight that they can go to Starbucks in the morning and get information about the turtles ... .. which we actually heard from a hostess at the Hard Rock ...

Go Glory :)

Must...Fly!, that'd be me :D

How many times did you win playing us this season this far?

Why aren't you at the champions league? :P haha

If we play to our best we can beat you! Anyway whatever happens it's been a great season for us. Enjoyed going to Gosford at the weekend, nice to win on penalties for once!

There will be loads of Perth fans invading on Friday/Saturday, going to be a fabulous weekend away! Hopefully we can be the first to win the GF from outside the top 2 :D
