Just spoke to my uncle in Noosa (seeing where amaroo is from) and he's about to fly BNE/PER return in J, for a Lions Convention. Wonder if he got the DSC offer :o as he's got a lot of flying in the next 5 weeks.

And in the process knocking back $200k a year because he loves Qld. Well done Will, hopefully Quade Cooper shares that feeling.

I know BNE D is a basket case at the moment with all the constructions, new drop-off pathways and so on, but......

...dammit, people are stupid! Perhaps I'm being impatient, but people absolutely do not know:
  • How to drive,
  • How to effectively meet and greet (either drop off or pick up) and not hold up the whole show,
  • How to drive,
  • How not to block up the road,
  • How to get done what needs to be done quickly - hey, just as much as some of us want to get out of here, don't you want to as well?

I'd normally call out the airport authority as being responsible for this tremendous cluster****, but - geez - people, help yourselves not to be a product of an idiot system......

Alright; rant over about how the human race is progressively and monotonically becoming more idiotic.

  • How to catch the Airtrain (if it's convenient).

Actually, I'm surprised at the patronage of the Airtrain these days. When I use it to the airport, up to 100 people seem to magically appear and leave the train. It wasn't too many years ago that you would be lucky to see 10-20...

Tell us what you really think.

But glad to read you are home safely.

Now get to work, tomorrow anyway. :p

I'm having my HUET training and induction training for riding in the back of and winching out of the AugustaWestland 139 and the Eurocopter 145 helicopters the week of 13th May - very excited that I'm going to be a frequent flyer of a different kind very soon!

Thank you and farewell, my first Australian adult passport. You've served me well especially of recent, but it's time for you to retire.

I found the ditching simulator to be fun for new crewmen, the number of people who try and get out immediately after the inversion the first time is close to 100%.

To your first e-Passport? I got my first SmartGate one not long ago. Self-border clearance, self-bag checkin, self-library checkout, self-supermarket checkout, what else can be built that will make us do what we used to have others help us do :?:

Apologies if I've missed the obvious - are you one of those wonderful medical men that go to the aid of people in distress?

Yay! Bring on "Smartgate" :D

At least renewal is rather easier than a new application.

Do they still make you wear the blacked out goggles?

I will have someone there with an underwater video camera ready to see if I do exactly that!

I am these days - I've worked with retrieval organisations in various capacities over the years, including some Aeromedical Retrieval for short stints, but now I'm going full time on the Retrieval Roster for six months.

Apparently, yes.

The HUET course is on this Thursday - the rest of the induction on the aircraft starts in a couple of weeks. I'll report back - and possibly with a video or two!

Currently sitting in the BOS BA F lounge. After being taunted with the F Dining room and being specifically told 'that's only for Club or Business pax' I was requested to 'enjoy a refreshment and snack'.

Well, they have some crudites and hommus. I quite like that. Except for the fact the carrots and celery they have are in a bowl all standing a bit like a flower arrangement. You pull them out to reveal the 'crispy' carrots, whilst the top is shrivelled like it's been out for 3-4 days. They have something that's an excuse for a sandwich. They're so dry, you could use them as baseballs and no one would be able to tell the difference.

Of course, I was kindly advised that they will have dinner on board for me (at 2220 departure, for a 6 hour flight to LHR where I then have to work 10 hours before jumping on a flight to SYD).

What a joke. I've seen AA Admirals Clubs with more selection.

The *only* saving grace... they have Tanqueray No. 10. I'm currently marinating myself, prior to sleep :)

IMO, the reciprocal rights seem to be very lacking when it comes to BA!

The painful process to enter the BA T3 Flounge dining room is a downer on what should be an enjoyable experience:confused:

I believe WP's are not entitled to F dining at all. The dragon here did actually say 'unfortunately your status is not sufficient to join us in the F dining room, that's only available to Club and First pax'.

I've heard mixed reports about obtaining dining passes for T3. As I will be there in only a few hours, anyone got any tips on how to snag one? I don't really feel like dining out in the terminal (and I only have a £20 left).
