The totally off-topic thread

Stupid question time; should there be a time limit to like posts. A new thread that came up just before has reminded me of a thread from 2011 and there is a post from that thread that I thought was well written but I am wondering whether it is too late to like a post.:?::idea:

Go for it, I do it all the time, and the poster will get a notification and smile.

Friday night and flight delayed again.

But wait here is a new reason.

I was offered a seat on earlier flight at T-30minutes with checked bag and refused as I was meeting someone in lounge. And yes you guessed it but my original flight has been delayed ~30 minutes with flight I was offered long gone. :(

Red Bull Offer - So I am in BP Mentone this morning drawing down on one of my '5 x AMEX bonus pts $200 gift cards' when I see on counter top a Red Bull Offer - buy '3 x Red Bull Cans for $7 and receive FREE 1 x SIM card with UNLIMTED phone and sms + 750mg data valid for 1 week' - bought one on the spot - will check T & C's to see period of time in which sim activation / usage validity - might go back and buy a bunch.

Am not trying to promote Red Bull - I always have a few cans in fridge as I enjoy Vodka Red Bull - but I will certainly get min $100 of value out of this sim at work in next week - hope others can benefit also.

Red Bull drink modifies your arteries within seconds so you should google health effects of that drink.
I have been warned off that product seeing my arteries are second hand.
40% Vodka from the freezer drunk straight is one of life's treasures where you get no hangover as long as that is left without a mixer. Ask a Russian if you have any doubts on this as they tend to be experts on this subject.

Yes the company was great.

Was there any real need for my flight to be delayed 30 minutes though?

Your name is JohnK.As soon as you turned down the earlier flight a call was made and instead of the earlier plane being made to wait that was switched to your originally booked flight!:p
;)

LOL. Yes it would appear that I am doomed to have delays when I am travelling!

Apologies to anyone travelling with me or on same flights that has to suffer.

Sitting at gate 46 DJ in BNE. Supposed to fly at 6.00 pm to SYD. For a connecting flight to HNL. Put on a 5.00 pm flight as the 6.00 pm flight was now delayed. Sat on the ground for an hour, now sitting at gate waiting for starboard engine to be repaired. ........I never seem to have any luck with DJ

Flicking thru the channels and saw the opening for "the block" and got a bit annoyed when the Sydneysider presenter referred to Melburnians as Melburnites? I have never heard a native of Melbourne refer to themselves as a Melburnites. Don't know why the northerners get this wrong time after time?

Would you prefer Mexicans?

Good luck with that. I was due to fly MEL-SYD-CBR on DJ this evening. When the weather in SYD went to custard with many, many cancellations I was put on the direct MEL-CBR flight. It was a very full flight.

Interestingly enough when I booked this flight the flexi fare on the original flights was the cheapest of any offerings.

Different people have different slang for various things. There are a large number of ways to refer to a queenslander, likewise there are a large number of ways to refer to people living in Brisbane.

Imho there isn't really a right or wrong unless it is derogatory and not used in self deprecating humour
