There are 2TB ones around. Seen a Western Digital one in JB or somewhere similar.

I recall 2.5" HDD's come in two thicknesses, with most slim computers favouring the 9.5mm variety… so perhaps the 2TB ones are too thick to be installed where anat0l would like.

I'm looking for external HDD units, not internal HDDs.

That said, there is another option you've alluded to: buy an internal HDD (2.5"), then buy a HDD external enclosure...

That said, I'm still iffy as to what range of capacities you can get 2.5" drives (even internal ones).

EDIT: Just had a look at 2.5" internal drive range from Umart. Biggest notebook size drive they offer is 1TB. Back to the drawing board.

Cannot help but think when the country was full of country people, this sort of thing would not have happened!

Central Queensland police have pulled over a swerving car to discover a 13-year-old girl allegedly drink-driving.

The girl was driving the vehicle, with four passengers, at Calliope, southwest of Gladstone, on Friday night, police said.

She allegedly recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.071.

No charges have been laid so far.

Page 50 of the Spring 2012 issue of Spirit (QantasLink's mag) has an advert for the WD My Passport, pocket size 2TB with USB 2 + 3 for under $300 online. Looks quite nice.

Yep, black WD My Passport 2TB going for around $255 across the major retailers, including Umart, JB Hifi and Harvey Norman.

Might go pick me up one.

2tb hasn't yet hit sweet spot pricing. 1,5 is there now.

Btw I believe you need a USB 3 port otherwise you need to provide addiotional power.

Might go set up the NAS that's been sitting on my desk since tax time last year. Thinking RAID5, don't care about the sacrificed capacity.

Lovely weather here for a Sunday. Heading up to Noosa for lunch

Left Strahan 0830 today as absolutely p***ing down and it was 9C.Around Waratah it had hit 4C.By 1100 at Burnie it was back to 7C.
And they say it doesn't get cold in Tasmania!

Been beautiful around Brisbane today. The bayside area where I have been hanging out is great. Sunny but breezy. Purely beautiful.

Cool, I was quite tempted myself, but…

Waiting for a computer upgrade to take advantage. Something with USB 3 ports :p

SeatBackForward - Congratulations on your little girl =D

on another note.

I live in North Sydney (the suburb not the general area)
On our way to lunch today we were stopped at a red light at an intersection to set the scene:
there is a turning lane divided and you need to be in it to turn, then there is lights and there is 3 lanes of traffic that can go straight ahead - the left most is divided from the other two by a big concrete divider plus those tall thin cylinder red and white poles, then there is 2 lanes that can turn right
ok so we were facing that street and a car not in the turning lane, not even in the next left most lane, but in the lane after all the concrete and dividers tries to turn left. We have been witness to many cars try/want/do this in the past and is a real pet peeve of mine as it is so rude, inconsiderate and dangerous, it shows a complete disregard for the road rules and pedestrian safety (as these lights are for go ahead or turn right only so wont indicate to drivers if the peds have the green light)
anyway
we see this car turn and be tboned by a car going straight ahead in the left most lane.
This car is a hire car - it is smashed pretty bad
the other car is a big black 4wd and aparently has little to no damage
lucky!
there was a passenger in the car that was turning

we could have easily been witness to a complete tragedy!

when will people learn

to make matters worse less than 200m away is the turn these people can take

I am thankful that no one was hurt

I am annoyed that this continues to happen and the council puts more and more blockades up to prevent it and people still try

so lucky! had to get that off my chest

My Little Miss was on an imposed technology ban (frequently happens on w/ends, otherwise she will spend all day watching TV/playing Minecraft, etc, and her lazy cough parents will let her) this afternoon, and came downstairs with her suitcase. She asked me to drive her to the airport; she had tickets for the two of us to Fiji (ahh, the memories of the IC kids club are still with her, over 18mths later). Daddy would stay home by himself, cooking whatever he wanted.
This evolved a little bit more, managed to talk her into going by herself, and using garden chairs for my car to the airport. She also had to pack her carryon. I was told that she was only packing togs and the clothes she was wearing - she was now only staying for one night, but fortuitously returning on her birthday in 2+ weeks time. Maybe too much Dr Who. I didn't find the Ir Pacific flights last year to resemble the Tardis. And a status run before the age of 6!!!!

Carryon and suitcase packed, we drove to the airport in the garden chairs. Some fun discussions at the airport getting tickets, a phone call "home" to make sure I could pick her up, and she returned after dragging her suitcase and Princess carry on bags around the yard. Great discussion about the compliments she recieved going to dinner, and the awesome dresses for $1 she picked up at the Kid's club ... so enthralling, I was chided for not paying attention to the road while "driving" her home. ;)

She did unfortunately forget to pick me up a bottle of champagne in the duty free. :(

Last week Little Miss Simo and I had the day together and I said what do you want to do today.

I said we can go to Caloundra for a play in the park or Maleny for a Babycino and she said no lets go to Fiji.

Sounds like there's still a bit of work to do then ;)

Indeed, and the training should start early! (Tho given the playing we were doing, she'd probably pop over to our champagne fridge and "gift" me a bottle from there).

I'm reading the tales of the Little Misses from Katie and Simo and can't help but laugh!

Then I think to myself.... do you have to feel a little bit sorry for their partners when they grow up? ;)

As long as you don't train her too early to drink it! :D

I trust you did not drop into the Bischoff Hotel in Waratah? Some rather, err, interesting types in there when I visited many years ago.

Mrs GPH and I took the young master ( grandson) to NZ recently. He travelled in 3A, on the the return flight he went straight to 3A without asking or checking.
Fortunately that was his seat, the problem for his parents from now on is that he thinks that is where he always sits.

It is I, Leclerc !

I hope these junior FFers are not demanding to be taken to the lounge :)
