Well, at least it keeps on dispelling the myth - IT people are not boring!

If you are in a lounge and you are on the phone quite a lot does that mean you are important?

Don't you mean 31c one hour 13c the next?

That can happen in Summer. However after the temp will usually rise a bit. However in more so Spring, depending on the winds (Desert or Antarctic) a change of temperature differential can seem quite dramatic (Especially to the whining Northern's! ;)). It is a bit weird if you are going for bike ride or jog and have to rug up and still apply sunscreen!

A whining Queenslanders experience with Melbourne weather.
first at the Australian Open a few years ago.19C with a wind from the Antarctic. With wind chill factor we froze.Next day~40C with wind from the desert.very uncomfortable.
Experience 2.One week before the Melbourne cup-snowed in Melbourne.
Experience 3.Early spring.A group of whining Queenslanders were there for a conference.Early Saturday morning the weather was beautiful. We decided to go to the MCG after the morning sessions were complete(no afternoon sessions)Came out at 1300 and the temp was in single figures with a freezing wind.We all decided it was better to watch the match on TV.
Sorry but you Melburnians can keep your weather.Please.:p;)

All I know is I moved to Melbourne late one January. One weekend I was on the beach doing surfing and such like, the next I was watching sleet fall outside and rather cold.

No but it is cough and difficult to use for non regular users.

Sounds more like you hate change and anything new or different. Personally, I don't care as long as it gets the job done. I like to exercise my ability to learn about new things.

It sounds more like that I am used to using Microsoft desktops and Internet Explorer.

Now as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with a Microsoft desktop or Internet Explorer but then I end up somewhere with no choice other than Apple and Safari. Not easy to use. I like using CTL+C and CTL+V quite a lot but does not appear to work in the AFF editor using Safari. I also like to use the up and down arrow keys in the AFF editor but that moves the webpage up and down using Safari.

Consistency would be nice but I forget which came first.

And change for change sake? Why?

It does require some relearning but then it is so much better and easier that there is no comparison.

More importantly, to me at least, is we lost my dear sweet Mum this week.

Who said anything about change for changes sake?

Seriously JohnK either you're winding us up or you don't have the first clue about computers. Safari and apple do also have shortcut keys for copy and paste. Just like in windows all you have to do is look at the edit menu and the keyboard and you can learn the various shortcuts.

Command + V, Command + C it really isn't that hard. The pattern is to replace control with command.

BTW ISTR explaining this to you already, maybe even in this thread.
