Beat you by 1 ! 41 years last November - and I still havent got drron fully house trained !

25 November for us. Went on honeymoon to Fiji in the days when just about the only overseas travel you did was on your honeymoon and your retirement. I tell the kids these stories and they're convinced I'm pulling their legs.

We went OS for our honeymoon-norfolk Island. All duty free when that actually did mean savings.Came back with 70kg excess baggage-didn't cost us a cent. And we are still using that saucepan set.

On a different note I made a comment to the taxi driver taking me from BWT to Burnie yesterday that I appreciated the difference in temperature from MEL-32C when we left and 20C at BWT.He told me that they were predicting a schorcher today for Burnie.I asked what were they predicting-27!I promise I didn't laugh but it was hard.

Bad luck comes in three's?

One neighbour put her very old dog down today, then (presumably after a few scotches) fell over a glass coffee table (like this but thicker glass) cutting her leg open; and then another neighbour was rushed to hospital (but no one knows what for yet). As everyone knows each other, I think that covers the three!

So I spent my afternoon disposing of many thousands of glass shards, some big, lots tiny.

Hopefully that is the end of it.

So headed back to work early to try and get a little ahead before the rest of the staff come back on Monday. Having a good day, factory getting a little hot (45c inside) then I notice there is a grass fire nearby. Got an alert from CFA suggesting to leave. Pack up computers, important documents etc and put them in the car. Headed to maccas to continue my work and checked out the CFA app. All clear! Better safe than sorry I suppose!

Moral of the story: Don't work too hard. :)

Lucky you managed to get the info off the CFA app before it fell over - oops!

Tell me about it, but did we all expect any different?

Always a tense time this time of year, with both my folks and sister living in bushfire prone areas. Just got to be prepared and get out early!

I'm in a bushfire zone (Wattle Glen) which would have been destroyed on Black Saturday if the change arrived just 10 minutes later. We wouldn't have known what hit us. Still, the bush isn't particularly dry, and if we get just average rainfall this summer, I'm not greatly worried. If we get no rain, it will be another matter.

What's your poison Jessica...?

Edit: Nearly hit the 1,000 points club I see, please feel free to post the celebratory drink photos...!
It is a Pimms and Dry with cucumber and lime. I was quite frustrated to find the shelves bare yesterday when I went looking for dry ginger - hence the 'finally'

Edit: Cheers!
