Logged on for my PER-MEL redeye at T-80 and almost every seat was open (A333) so picked up 23A....fool! Forgot about the emergency exit, 23B would have been perfect. Went back and I've got a very limited selection again (although more than before T-80), so I'm now in row 29. Lesson for the future!

Just as well I did not bet on Melbourne Cup. My 4-5 certainties did not quite make it.

And a $1 bet on the first four would have been a dream come true....

I heard that someone who works at one of local hospitals put $20 on a Mystery Trifecta won $51K !!
Guess they are having the evening off :)

Got on the Sydney Airtrain today and my +1 noticed a woman wearing Qantas J PJ's, as she exited the train he pointed it out to me, another woman heard us talking and turned around saying to us "Yeah, it's becoming more and more common, I think they've become fashionable, I see people going jogging in them all the time"

Did I miss something?

Had a bit of an impromptu "cook-off" with Janice tonight... so much food and oh soo much wine... but so yummy.

I may need crane to get me out of bed tomorrow :o :o :p

It was getting difficult to commit to a trip that is hard to justify until last night.

I may regret it but no turning back now....

What a day yesterday.

I had the customer's PA come in and let us know that he was coming in and then he wanted us to allocate a staff member and a desk for him to sit out while we sort it all out.

So we weren't busy so it was ok.

I googled the guy and he was nothing special in regards to his history apart from the fact he is head of a National Company.

A big DYKWIA but I had no idea.

I thought you liked it when TonyHancock came to visit? ;)

There was an article in the SMH I read this morning along similar lines...

I heard something similar at work, but I wouldn't have considered work as a local hospital for you. Must be a bit of it going around.

Only 1 night?

Must be a mid-rank doc, as that would only be half a night for some more senior drs.

See them pretty regularly going up and down Oxford St.

Off the grog now until Christmas. I simply need to lose weight and get fit. 20 years ago I could train for a marathon and drink a six pack a day. And break 3 hours. No longer alas. Anyway, it will save some money as well.

I will take one for the team and stimulate the Australian alcohol economy in your absence :o

Although my doctors have been suggesting that I do the same at some stage. I am not young or thin or good looking anymore... Some would say I was never those things :o :p

It would seem our doctors have been talking to each other. This sounds awfully familiar :):o

The good thing is that I can give up without any problems or side effects (despite drinking far too much when I do drink). I know people, including family members, without this ability.

Besides Obama retaining the US presidency another interesting story I found on cnn this morning.

[h=1]Puerto Ricans favor statehood for first time[/h]
In an overshadowed Election Day contest, Puerto Ricans voted in favor of statehood in a nonbinding referendum, marking the first time such an initiative garnered a majority. Puerto Ricans were asked about their desires in two parts. First, by a 54% to 46% margin, voters rejected their current status as a U.S. commonwealth. In a separate question, 61% chose statehood as the alternative, compared with 33% for the semi-autonomous "sovereign free association" and 6% for outright independence.

I was off the alcohol between July-September and got me nowhere. I did the same thing ~10 years ago and lost ~6kgs so something is not working quite well.

I peaked at my highest ever weight end of September and have lost 10kgs since but getting nowhere. I was in Sydney on the weekend and put 3kg back on again and struggling to get back to square one....
