The Velocity Status Run Master thread

Re: Need 4 DJ sectors and 130 SCs by Sept 1

Lets see if they do the dodgy and have a sale on redemption bookings now!
bad news - virgin has upgraded its costs for most of the better value runs - i have updated the spreadsheet overnight :(

I suppose it was only a matter of time. While I'm pretty comfortable I'll requal WP without status-running I'm sad to see those 13,800pt redemptions disappear.

Great work on the update, and for everyone who's put so much time into jazzing the sheet up over the last few days.

I booked an A30 & A37 recently, thanks to those that contribute, and I feel bad that I have not added anything yet...you guys are pretty quick off the mark :-)

Kind of amusing that they can update these things, but everything else is IT related is an unworkable festering pile of turd that apparantly cannot be fixed,

Some things such as flight costs are mostly just data fixes, fare rules etc.

The problems with their websites are more bad architecture/design/implementation (take your pick I don't know which one it is), which can be more time consuming to fix, depending on where the problem is.

We have some updates to the SS... In the VA 'Points Run' sheet I've added a couple of new columns to reflect the true value of points/SC by accounting for the cost or value of the points that you each personally hold. I've started this off at 2 cents per point, but this is just a start and anyone can change the value to whatever thye like according to their circumstances. But in the interest of consistency to measure a standard set of result, I'd like to see if we can collectively agree upon a number. I've also incorporated the co-pay into the equation. Produces some very interesting results in direct contrast to the current 'sorted' value system.

I've also added some test forex data and calculations in the 'Other/Partners' sheet which I would like some other folks to check out and see if it suits. It means we will need to start entering the values in the local currency and define what that currency is (3 letters - defined in columns further along).

Amusing... not.

They just managed to increase the cost of the top routes on the spreadsheet... :(

Yep, so who is the mole ?
There is one run that i wont mention at this stage that hasnt been touched and if its still there at the end of the month i will share via pm. But not before, and only to those who have shown in this a certain amount of integrity

Well if there is a mole, and not just VA tidying things up as a matter of course, it is an easy matter for lobo76 to cancel everyone's access and then set the bar higher.

Are you talking about a run that is on the spreadsheet?

No, I found it a couple of days back, then all the pointrates started to change, and I thought "Somebody is sucking up to Virgin" so kept it quiet, sure enough, all the runs listed have been adjusted to the correct burn, yet this one remains untouched. 1+1 is 2 .... There appears to be a wolf in sheeps clothing..

Expect a flurry of PMs!

LOL I will release to the selct few, if its still around, unless we work out who is being a tosser.
Thats provided of course it isnt fixed by Virgin... We will see

Well I think Lobo mentioned there are likeover 170 people with access to the Spreadsheet so its not unresonable to assume that someone could be feeding info back to VA... that said Lobo is doing his best to keep VA out and make the speadsheet work ;)

whilst some of the best value runs have kind of been killed, which sucks big time, i'm more inclined to think that VA fixed up some of their fares themselves - I dont think they would have lasted as long as they did if there was a mole to be honest - our favourite A47 lasted a LOONG time - and it would have definately been closed you can imagine as it would have cost them a fortune.

I think 'I should have booked earlier' will be a common response. :( On the bright side I am confident our sharing our research will still provide some good deals, maybe not giveaways, but certainly some good savings or bonuses.

It appears they have fixed most of the errors. Now all they need to do is fix everything else thats wrong with their whole booking system / IT

It is a pity their priority does not seem to be on the customer service side of the website. At least I am getting to know my membership number off by heart.

If I was able to add to the sheet I have a couple of runs which are still active which it would be nice to post.

Hi,
Seeing as i wont be able to get access to the spreadsheet, i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me try and find some of these flights on my own?
Thanks, Ben
