The Velocity Status Run Master thread

Are you looking at a points or a cash status run ?

Hi all,

I'm currently VA Gold with review/renewal due in early September. I'm looking for 220SC to renew Gold by September, or for a challenge, 290SC to qualify for Platinum by early June. Any recommendations for a suitable SC run, ex-CBR or SYD?

Thanks!

Canberra to Gold Coast via Melbourne would be an option. Have looked at doing it in the other direction. 200sc in Business for around 45,000 points.

Thanks to Stone for his suggestion.

Also thanks to 'B' who PM'ed me with a very useful suggestion; unfortuantely as a noob I can't reply by PM at this stage.

Could anyone recommend a good status run from Sydney? I'm hoping for 220 points to qualify for platinum before a heap of SC from last year drop away.

Have about 40k in points to play with....any advice sincerely appreciated. :)

Sent you a PM . Hope it helps.

I would like to get 220 SC and 1 obviously 1 sector before heading via AUH to CDG later this year. Any recommendations for a good value run.. pref ex syd, but i can drive to newcastle or canberra if necessary..
thx so much for the advice..

I have only just found this forum and as Velocity member, have found this thread fantastic. Wish I had found a couple of weeks ago as we booked economy seats ADL to MEL return without fully understanding what the possibilities were. Any other goods tips ex ADL would be appreciated

Hi guys. Looking for some tips to push up my status from red to gold. I have 160 status credits and 140K VFF points and would love to take advantage of the reward seat status credit deal ex MEL. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I have the potential to pool from 3 children, if the flights and timings are right too, so It could be a big earner for me. With a GF who is a Kiwi, gold would be great when traveling across the ditch. Cheers

Have added A78 to A83 over the past 5 days. All ex HBA, There has been some steep points increases on A78 and A80 between the 23/04 and the 27th.
A83 showing good value. 140 SC for 18500 pts on the promo deal

Had an email from VA this morning, amending an A16, and in the process removing the best SC leg. Checked both cash and points options and I think A16 may have bitten the dust. It's of no real concern to me, as I doubt I'll need it, thus will cancel. But may be a problem for some...

Got the same email re A16, called and had flights reinstated. I can still get original routing on dates booked. GCC had no idea why the flights were changed....

How is everyone getting to the departure point for A16? Seems like a pain... if have to drive then have to return to there rather than a more handy airport :P
