Could anyone recommend a good status run(s) ex ADL? I'm looking for 140 points to qualify for platinum! I have 185k VFF points. Any help is much appreciated!

Should be dead easy to get good SC's out of ADL. Have a look at indirect routes to major cities or popular holiday spots.
ADL to OOL via MEL 24400 pts plus $20.20 gives 100SC in J

How many posts do you need to make to obtain access to the spreadsheet?

The post says no points requirement, just must not be Virgin Staff.
However, to PM, you need 15 posts.. so one would assume there is automatically a 15 post requirement.

Since i can't PM yet can anyone please suggest to me a good SC run (ex Sydney). Have about 40k~ points in the bank and need about 250~ to gold! thanks :)

This is probably a stupid question but for someone who hasn't done a status run before, how much time do you need to leave between flights? Im considering going ADL->NTL via MEL.

ADL-> NTL 0940-1330
NTL-> ADL 1400-1835

That 2pm flight is the only one that leaves for MEL from NTL for the rest of the day. Is 30mins safe enough to make it to the return flight?

In a word, no.

The system won't let you book it as a return, as it's too tight.
If you book two one way legs and something goes wrong (you're already connecting so you have two flights to worry about) then you could miss your return and then you'll be stuffed.

That's my two cents, anyway.

You could pull it off if the plane was doing a turnaround... I remember there was a website or so that could tell you if it was the same plane going back.

True, I forgot to consider that as NTL is a pretty small airport. Looking at their daily schedule there's only one more flight after that (BNE) but it's not until 1650.

Looking at thevasource (The VA Source - Virgin Australia Flight Tracker) their "flight tracker" for VA1593 and VA1594 indeed look like that jet is just a turnaround.
I guess you'd probably be ok to chance it?

Likely you'd get the same crew who'd think you were pretty strange though :)

There is a 0605 departure from ADL Via BNE will give you more SCs, and into NTL by 10:50AM which I'd imagine would then let you book it as a return.

Just had a browse at A16, since it gets in late are you guys overnighting? All flights back to Mel depart prior 1 hour before it lands.

A16 will require an overnight in ADL as it gets in at 10.40pm & there are no flights out of ADL at that time .
