Not bothered by status credits right now, a couple of Business class flights domestically, and a Business class to Bali, combined using Family pooling has me sorted for credits. I just needed one return flight to get the flight legs. A Gold Coast to Sydney return to visit the parents will have that sorted out in a month. So from Silver to Gold and 2 sectors off Platinum in time for a Sydney/Singapore/Copenhagen flight in July. Those cheap Business seats last year were a godsend.

Hi Everyone

First time posting here.

I am the closest i have ever been to Virgin Platinum. I have to get 165 more points to achieve my previous unreachable goal

However I am a little confused as to how long I have to get these status credits. On the app it says I have until February 28th and on the webpage it says i will loose 50 status credits on April 12.

Here are the screen shots.

If I need to get the status credits by 28th February, whats a good status run to do in one day out of Sydney. I maybe be able to fly the night before.

Probably the anniversary review date is 28th Feb 2023. Please note that each SC earned gets expired after an year of earning.

If you could please confirm , where do you want to fly from and how much are you ready to spend for the status run , it will give us a chance to help you with any suggestions. All the best !!

As far as I can tell, you have until 12 April 2023 to earn the additional 165 status credits as this is when your next bunch expire. You just need to earn 1,000 status credits (and fly at least 8 sectors) during any rolling 12-month period.

To earn 165 status credits ex SYD, you could fly for example (using a promo code to book):

SYD-BNK on a cheap ticket (e.g. Economy Choice for $82.25 - it earns 15 SC but you don't actually need these)
BNK-SYD-MEL in Business for $560.04 for 110 SC
MEL-SYD in Business for $415.44 for 55 SC

I'll have 1000+ status credits but only 4 sectors at my review date of Feb 28.
Are you saying that if I get another 4 sectors in March that I will get WP after those flights in March?

As far as I understand , If your review date is 28 Feb 2023 and the number of sectors is only 4 , I fear you wont be given Platinum. However if you were to fly 4 more sectors in the next 10 days then probably you will meet the required criteria.

Expiry of status credits is an year from the date of earn and has got nothing to do with the review date of your ff status. Hope that helps.

Quite a while ago I applied for the VA status match with my QR Plat status which was also matched from EY.

I received mid-April 2022 that my Gold status would be extended for one year on 1 JULY 2022.
I just logged on and my status has dropped to Silver.



Is that some kind of IT issue with VA or shall I call tomorrow first thing?
I am flying VA Wednesday night and the VA website is now recognizing me as only a Silver member.

I'd prefer to credit with Velocity as Qatar earnings are low instead of crediting everything to Etihad.

I would suggesting calling Velocity and confirming what's happening. I guess the status extension on 1st July 2022 was as per certain predefined criteria hence there might be some issues.
