The view from my "office"

Is it because photography is not allowed in these sites?

No photographs allowed inside the Sistine Chapel. Fine in other parts of the Vactican.
As it was explained to me in Rome, this originates from when Nippon Television Network Corporation of Japan sponsored the restoration of the Sistine chapel ceiling. They specified that there should be no commercial photography of it ( ie take advantage of the funds that they spent). But the Vatican authorities extended it to no photographs by anyone, full stop. Probably a nice little earner at the gift shop.

As a consequence, what otherwise might be a relatively quiet experience is punctuated continuously by the guards shouting out “no photos”! 🙄

Off to look at another Cosworth Sapphire in the ‘gong this morning, Dark and raining, hit this, 2 inch gash in front tyre, rim probably bent as well. Of course my Euro spec car carries a can of stuff and a 12v compressor, no spare. sigh.
Rose Cottage, near Monaro Highway, south Canberra.

Came back and took some photos. Pot holes are an issue, but the guvment has had cheap quick fixes in place for quite some time, got to pay for that bleedin’ tram somehow.
I've had to replace 4 tyres, so far this year, due to the disgraceful state of the roads in my area (Lower North Coast NSW), plus $1000 on steering repairs. So over it!

We drove down from the Sunshine Coast to the AFF meeting in Newcastle, then on to Gosford, Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Orange, Tamworth and back to QLD. We totally agree NSW roads are shocking, zillions of potholes and not much being done to repair them.

Zillions! That's just an exaggeration. Can't be more than 3 or 4 Brazilian.

The constant rain certainly hasn't helped, but the roads in my area were a mess even before that.
There are so many deep potholes, it often just comes down to choosing to hit the one you think might cause the least damage.
