The view from my "office"

Plus the long lines for the visa, although I only have a sample size of one on that front.
You can get your visa online now, rather than just in the terminal. I also balanced the cost of the visa, hotel (even with discount of points), plus transport each way. Clear winner in the end, both in money, and time and effort.

There was a planned power outage at our house on Tuesday night. The power was due to be off from 20:00 to 06:00 so we decided to go away for a night rather than huddle around a candle - especially as it went down to 0.7 C on Tuesday morning. We went to Mandurah which is about 70 km south of us.

While we were down there we had a look at three of the "Giants of Mandurah" a fairly new art installation spread out around the area.

It was a very nice, if cool, day and the water was extremely calm

The view from the overnight office, Pharos Hvar Bayhill Hotel.

I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. The lovely outdoor terrace where we can eat is also for smoking. Also seems to atteact a younger crowd. Dinner of fresh sea bream was absolutely delicious. Very good buffet breakfast. The room’s bathroom is quirky and fun though, and made me smile!

It was only a 10 minute walk down to the esplanade, so easy to reach the daytime and night time activities. Hire a boat to tour the tunnels and other sights. Perfectly clear water for swimming. I’d love to come back at some time and spend a few days at each island on the ferry route.

@OZDUCK, I don't think that I can be bothered playing the giants' trail 'game' and they discourage people posting them online. Do you have a map of the locations that you could PM to me?

The local Tourist Bureau had a map that you could use without having to play 'the game'. We just used the map and ignored 'the game'.

I have scanned a copy of that map into my computer but I seem to be too stupid to attach it to any sort of message to you so I will just add it to this post. Sorry.

Are these the same ones that were in the forest around Manjimup? These ones will be visited by more people now they are in Mandurah. Very interesting art.
